The Third

The name is a thesis. A third place is the one that isn't home and isn't work — the public room where a neighbourhood does its unhurried living, the old sociologist's term for the café or the counter where regulars turn up without an appointment. The Third put that idea on the sign and then built a restaurant to earn it. Put together, The Third works less like a restaurant with a concept bolted on than like a neighbourhood keeping its own hours.
