11th Post on Queen Restaurant

8.5

First time here? Take the 30-second tour of how Restaurantica works!

The name is a wine. Eleventh Post is a Two Sisters Vineyards bottling, and the restaurant that borrows it sets out to carry that estate's hospitality off the vineyard and onto Queen Street, where most of Niagara-on-the-Lake's foot traffic actually moves. What lands there is more relaxed than the pedigree suggests — a dining room of polished comfort classics rather than a tasting showcase. A wine wall runs through it, but the plates stay within easy reach. 11th POST on Queen is the accessible front door to a serious wine family, the Two Sisters connection built into the visit rather than added as decoration.

The menu keeps that promise plain. The Burger is the casual centre, anchored further by a feature burger that rotates monthly, and around it sits a comfort range a table can navigate without negotiation — a Chicken Sandwich, Roasted Chicken, a Chicken Cobb Salad, BBQ Beef Nachos, Apple Crisp to finish. Steak Frites supplies the bistro backbone, familiar enough for a weeknight and composed enough to belong in a wine-country dining room. The Tuna Tartare is the sharper counterpoint, a lighter and more deliberate opening for a table starting with cocktails or a glass of the estate's own wine. Smoked Salmon and a tamarind salad fill out the lighter half, the side of the menu that leans toward a glass of white over a pint.

Read the week and the restaurant's working character comes through. Sunday brunch opens the dining room earlier, built around cocktails and a few signature twists on the classics. Mondays carry a three-course prix fixe date menu — a shared appetizer, chosen mains, a shared dessert — that hands couples a plan rather than a blank evening. Happy Hour fills the weekday afternoons with cocktails and small bites, the easiest way to take the measure of the bar side without committing to a full reservation. Late Night Bites take over Friday and Saturday once the dinner rush thins, cocktails and comfort plates for evenings that run long. Thursdays stack the feature burger over eight-dollar pints. Few dining rooms in Niagara-on-the-Lake bother to program a week this tightly.

The pedigree is not borrowed. 11th POST is an extension of Two Sisters Vineyards, the estate built by sisters Angela and Melissa, and the wine family's instincts show up in the particulars — a fireplace, a full bar, booths, and patios that spill the restaurant onto the street when the weather turns. Live music turns up on the calendar, and the dining room itself reads more elegant than casual, the kind of setting that lets a burger feel like an occasion. When it opened in 2023 it arrived already fluent in the difference between a pub that happens to pour wine and a wine house that also grills a proper burger. Local reporting has named the kitchen's menu developer, but the restaurant keeps its spotlight on the family rather than a single chef.

That spread of seating and hours is also what makes 11th POST useful past a two-top dinner. Booths, bar seats, the dining room, and the patios give a group somewhere to land, and the family points larger bookings toward set menus and full buyouts — polish without ceremony, for occasions that should feel planned but not stiff. The same range that carries a quiet weeknight scales up to a table of ten without losing its character.

All of which makes 11th POST easy to fold into a Niagara-on-the-Lake afternoon. It sits where a day of theatre or wine touring naturally pauses, close enough to Old Town that a table can drift in for a burger and a glass and let the rest of the evening sort itself out. The vineyard itself is a few minutes away, but its name — and its sense of hospitality — made it onto Queen Street first.

Three things this kitchen does the rest don’t

  1. 01

    Two Sisters Wine-Country Extension

11th POST is not a generic Queen Street dining room. Its identity is tied to Two Sisters Vineyards and the Eleventh Post wine, giving the restaurant a clear hospitality-family story before the menu even starts.

  2. 02

Comfort Classics with a Polished Room

The restaurant’s own menu frame is burgers, steaks, entree salads, and comfort foods, but the setting is more composed than a pub. That combination is the useful middle: casual orders in a wine-country room.

  3. 03

Weekly Features That Shape the Visit

The current features page gives diners real ways to plan: Sunday Brunch, Monday prix fixe date menu, weekday Happy Hour, weekend Late Night Bites, and Thursday feature-burger/$8 pint programming.
