Wonderful experience. The food was to die for....especially the she crab soup like everyone recommended. The ambiance of the restaurant was very homey and comfortable. Definitely will not be disappointed if you choose this place to dine.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were thrilled. We got there early, so limited wait. Food was exceptional. The ocean view was outstanding. If we had known, we would have gone a bit later (and not starving), to enjoy a cocktail before in the bar or on the outside porch before eating. They had "laid back" Larry entertaining in the bar area. Service was speedy and courteous. Excellent dining experience. Can't wait to go back to Myrtle Beach.

I have been to this restaurant many of times. They have always been great. The service is great and looking at the ocean is awsome! I have taken other people with me everytime I go and the response is always the same. WOW! If you get there early you can get in and out without much wait. If you go later, well decide whether you are starving and can't wait or starving but worth the wait. I prefer the latter. You must go at least once!

This has got to be the best seafood on the beach. Lived here 3 yrs, been to most of the seafood restaurants. This has the most and the best for your money. When I want seafood, I will never go anyplace else.

I had heard about this place since the first time we visited Myrtle Beach, many years ago. I could not have been more disappointed. We were seated in what had to be the noisiest spot in the restaurant, by a rather snippy waitress. The food was definitely nothing special. Maybe I wouldn't have been so disappointed if I had not heard so many great things about the place, but there are so many great places to eat in Myrtle Beach, that this is definitely off my list of must visits.

I have been eating at the Sea Captain's House for over 40 years and no matter where else I have had dinner here, this is the best. The She Crab Soup is one of the most delicious and perfect foods you can imagine. Yes, there is always a wait but there is a wait here most places since this is a resort and we have lots and lots of tourists. Try fast food if you don't want to wait for dinner in the summer time bit dinner here makes the wait worthwhile. Everything from the house salad dressing and the hush puppies to the fresh seafood is terrific.

The view from this restaurant is wonderful! You can smell the ocean. I just love to go there. The food is great the service is as well. The portions are good. Sometimes parking and getting a table can be rough especially during peak season for tourists. We've waited over an hour. I say give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Sea Captains House was a boarding house in the 1950's and it's seaside view cannot be beat.
The food is excellent, well prepaired and presented. A good amount for the money. The restaurant has been written up in Southern Living Magazine and has received several awards for it's food. Even with all the awards, this is not a stuffy formal place.
Check out the daily special menu printed in the Sun Times newspaper.
Also try the Sunday breakfast buffet with cooked to order eggs and omelets.
- Order: shecrab soup, flounder, seafood platter, hush puppies with honey butter
