Bon Appetit

We went to Bon Appetit because they were promoting they were open for breakfast. My wife asks for French toast made with wheat bread rather than French bread. When we received our order my wife got her French toast made with French bread and a side of wheat bread. We ask the waitress to take the order back that we ask for French toast with wheat bread. The waitress stated “can’t you just put the toast on top of your French toast and eat it that way”. My wife said no and asks for the order to be re-done. We told the waitress since we could not get my wife’s meal the way we would like it we would like to pay for our coffee and leave. Next the owner came over upset and said “what seems to be your problem?” When I explained the situation to her, the owner stated “we won’t substitute wheat bread for French bread on our French toast”. I told the owner that If we could not get my wife’s meal the way we had ordered it we would like to pay for our coffee and leave. The owner started yelling and said that we can only get our food the way it is on the menu and if we didn’t want it that way we could just get out and never come back. She was yelling as she escorted us out of the establishment. My wife and I have traveled the world and have never been treated as poorly as we were her. How do people like this stay in business?

It was incredibly good. The atmosphere is charming, the service excellent and the French style food delicious. We will go again.
