The Gavel Cafe is a great little place across from the downtown San Diego Courthouse that serves great tasting food and hot pita bread with hummus to boot. The service was top notch and very prompt, and the man who I assume owns the restaurant is very nice and personable.
The average price of a meal at the Gavel is a little over $5 dollars, which is fine considering the quality of the food and the choices at your disposal.
Overall, I would recommend the Gavel Cafe to anyone who is interesting in a warm and filling lunch in a cozy atmosphere at the center of downtown San Diego.
