Americas Restaurant

The restaurant is gorgeous and the parking (valet or garage) more than sufficient - which is a big deal in Houston. We had to wait 20 mins for a table, even though we had a reservation. Tried to sit at the bar and have drinks while we were waiting, but the bar tender asked if we were dining and when we said yes he turned away and never gave us an opportunity to order. Waitstaff was good, nothing too impressive. Constantly suggested the most expensive menu items. Food presentation was beautiful, but taste was just average. Very similar to their sister restaurant Amazon Grill , but with more selection. Since Amazon Grill is almost fast food, this was a bit disappointing. Drinks were decent. Dining room was very loud. Restrooms were a mess - not a square of tissue to be found and there were tacky paper signs taped up everywhere asking you to not flush paper towels. Overall experience was just ok. I won't pick this restaurant, but I'll tag along with friends.
