Order: sushi, maki, tempura, dessert
Review: Sushi is overpriced - over $6 for 2 pieces - and, remarkably, contains sinew (white stringy material); maki was too salty; dessert portions small for the priceThis restaurant would not even be in business in Vancouver.

Review: I am stunned when I see negative reviews for this restaurant. I honestly think these people have no idea what Sushi is, or how it is prepared. In my opinion, this is the Best Sushi restaurant in Ottawa. I have been eating here for more than 4 years, and have never been disappointed. The sashimi practically melts in your mouth. I love Ichibei!!
Review: My husband and I have been visiting this restaurant for two years. The service has always been impeccable, and the food is delicious. I quite like the California rolls. They have fresh salads with good dressing, and everything we have tried has been well made.

Order: Variety of sushi, Tempura Udon.
Review: This used to be Ottawa's best sushi restaurant but things have been going downhill over the past years. The fish isn't as fresh, the portions are getting smaller and the feeling from the wait staff is that they don't really want to be there. A new owner perhaps? I'd still rank it as Ottawa's 2nd best sushi joint but it's not what it was. In comparison to a staple like Sushi on Bloor in Ottawa, this restaurant doesn't even rate so if you're used to a higher standard be prepared to be disappointed.

Review: Sushi and sashimi are not as good as the review here. We were a little bit disapointed. Will try others before we will be back again.
Order: sushi and so on
Review: too expensive compared to the taste and portion. the owner was so canny with money. and taste is the worst in ottawa. WASABI located downtown was much better. I heard many harsh stories that make me feel like not going there anymore from a person who used to work there. and also I heard most of people working there actually don't wanna work there but for most of Japanese living in ottawa, it is difficult to find a job there. so they gotta work there reluctantly.

Review: This restaurant is one of our favorites. The food is delicious and the service is superb. During the course of our past dinning experience we enjoyed the spicy roll maki (it does have some kick!) and the tuna nigiri followed by tofu udon and niku udon soups with a few rounds of sake! We even learned some new japanese phrases! Friendly service, great food.
Review: No need to go there. Expensive but the food quality is bad. The sushi rice is so moist that I feel like eating sticky rice.Service is okay to poor. One comment. I will never go to this restaurant again.
