Yes, the food was good.
Yes, the service was good.
No, the charges were not worth the quality of food and service. We had a table of seven, arrived on a Tuesday evening at 7, left by 8:23.
Restaurant was near capacity.
Four of us ate dinner (separate checks).
Two drank just water and one had a soft drink. The following bill for my wife and I:
Two Moretti beers ($4.00 each)
Two R Stuart Big Fire pinot noir ($12.00 each)
One Pollo Salad $10.00
One California Pie (pizza) $22.00
20% dinner gratuity $12.80
Subtotal $64.00
Tax $9.77
Total $86.57When I talked to a manager named Lauren, she kind of hemmed and hawed about the price of food, drink and gratuity.
By the way, a bottle of Big Fire retails between $18 and 20.
Figuring that a glass had about 4 ounces at $12 per glass, that is quite a profit margin.I would have felt better about paying this much money at the Polo Grill or Michael Fusco's Riverside Grill Restaurant.
Their per-glass prices and overall dinner prices merit the higher cost.Ta-ta, Tucci…I won’t be eating there anytime soon – especially in this economy!
