ReviewThe level of greek cuisine can now match Toronto's greek town. I had tried the other greek restaurant but it really doesn't come close to the level of service or quality of food offered. This restaurant reminds me of the Danforth area of Toronto.
The food is fantastic and the attentiveness to the customer is tops. Congrats.
I can't understand the low ratings....seems a bit suspicious to me.

ReviewWe entertained friends from out of town for our anniversary, so we went to our favorite bistro in town, knowing the chef and sommellier would not dissapoint us and guests. We were right as usual. The best food, wine and service. We are glad these duo came to Peterborough from at Toronto. Amazing place.

ReviewWe were streched for time, so I pre-ordered by phone for me and my wife. They were fast and attentative. Great lunch and wine. See you for dinner soon!

ReviewMy favourite restaurant in Peterborough by far! Love the atmosphere and the service however cosmopolitans are beyond strong unless they are made by Gunther. Delicious!

ReviewAnna cooks with love and it shows - the lamb is always so tender. George's wine cellar is superb. The service is always excellent. Warm and cosy atmosphere. The only complaint (and it is a very small one) is that the beans could be more al dente.

ReviewI was a waiter for Anna & George from 1988 thru to 2002 at their restaurant in Whitby called The Greek Tycoon. I had since been married and had children, I did visit their location in Yorkville in Toronto. I found out through word of mouth that they are in Peterborough, so I took my wife and youngest child to find them for a memmerable evening. I arrived in Peterborugh and was lost, I knew their parents started the shish kebab hut, so I thought that was where they were. I found the shish kebab place and walked in on Saturday at 5 p.m. and asked where is George? The gentleman was the propietor, and said I do not know such a name or person, I was fortunate that there was a diner there that could not get a reservation at George and Anna's place and said I know them, they are the best in town, they are at The Original Greek on Water Street. I'm glad that that lady re-directed us for two reasons, one the food was amazing, two these two are the most real and unique people on this planet. Love you guys, see you soon. Thanks for getting us in, we waited for 2 hours but worth the wait, after all we came from Whitby.

ReviewIf your looking for pretentious, look elsewhere, this place is down to earth gourmet with a twist of greek, I can see why there are so many great reviews, the wines were stupendous, no overpriced trendy wines, just well sampled and paired selections, so great I will be having at least four of them at my wedding this summer and my rehearsal party at the original greek, the best place in the Kawarthas!

ReviewI took my sweetheart for an early dinner, my fault I wanted to take her to her favorite restaurant, and I forgot to make reservations. George the owner said "don't worry, come in have a drink and we will squeze you in, he did, worth the wait as always. By the way I finally proposed. and no better place to do so...
