Cafe Heidelberg German Market

This is one of my favorite German restaurants. That Hofbrau House is so touristy, expensive and not worth it. This place is in a strip mall is dark and decorated with the bottles of the beer they sell! It sounds horrible, but it really is not. We have been to Germany and my husbands family is German and we always bring them when they visit because they request it. This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for very good food. If you have ever been to Europe then you know what to expect from the service, it is slow. However if you feel like going somewhere that you cab enjoy a meal and take your time this is it. The only bad thing I have heard from anyone was from a German women who when asked where the food was better she said: My kitchen. Barring an invitation to this ladies house Cafe Heidelberg is a great place to try for authentic german food. A definite must is the apple strudel which is made in house comes out warm with whipped cream on top and also with a small pitcher of warm vanilla sauce!!!!!!!!! Oh my, it is delicious!
