The food is wonderful!! I think it may be the best Mexican in Haywood. The prices are a little high, (30 for 2 people and one of those meals was an appitizer) but the service was good

If you are thinking of "chain restaurant" Mexican food, then this place is not for you, but if you want authentic Mexican in a place run by Mexicans, then Guyabitos is wonderful. We've been eating here for over 12 years, because we can always expect a good, reliable meal and spend less than $40 for our family of four.
All meals start out with complimentary chips and homemade salsa: mild with lots of cilantro. Be careful, though; they are addicting and you don't want to fill up on them before the food comes.
The kids love to see the waiters come out with all the hot plates lined up their arms covered with arm length hot gloves.
No cheddar cheese here, all Monterrey Jack and lots of it. Our family favorites are the enchiladas, fajitas and the taco salad, or taco grande. The burritos and chimichangas are also good, and very different than what you expect: more like a variation of an enchilada than a rolled up "Taco Bell" burrito.
The meal usually fills us up, but occasionally we spring for the fried ice cream for dessert.
Guyabitos isn't fancy -- just a Mexican diner. But for a good, inexpensive, filling meal, you can't beat it.
- Order: Taco Enchilada Combo, Fajitas, Taco Salad
