Review: I love eating here. The atmosphere is very relaxed & as with John [the owner] he and his staff are always very friendly. I think out of the dozens of times I've eaten here I don't ever recall ordering from the set menu. That's because for me, the specials board is where it's at. The black board contains a wide variety of styles & choices of mains and always come with a choice of sides. btw- the prices are great too.To me, all restaurants should be like back to the garden. I would recommend this place to everyone. they always have fantastic food, excellent service and an owner who takes pride in his work place.

Order: Myself and a vegetarian companion ordered jalepeno poppers to start as we were craving something deep fried. The item satisfied. They were crisp and still hot when they made it to table. We each had burgers; mine a beef one with brie and caramelized onions, hers a roasted vegetable concoction. In an era when many cooks are afraid to deliver a beef burger any lkess than burnt, the chef at this cafe was pleased to grill mine to my liking. This made all the difference in the world to me. Great place.
Review: only problem with the service was that i think our server was the owner's daughter and was quite young and complaining to him about an injury...no big deal, though.
Order: This place is great. The blonde waitress is hot and knows how to make a person feel like their coming home. Oh and the food is good too.
Review: The food well, was just food. But it was the service that made us want to come back.It's rare these days to find a waitress that will go out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything without making you feel obligated. And when it came time to recieve change, she didn't give you a bunch of little stuff to make sure she got a tip. We had to ask for smaller bills. That's what makes a restaraunt, the food yes. But the service I believe is more important. I think her name was Dora or something like that. Tell her Jake from the neighbourhood sent you. She'll appreciate that
Order: I ordered Caesar Salad, and Back ribs with french fries and vegetables. My companion ordered a vegan burger, french fries and they adjusted the brushetta so that it would meet his dietary requirements.
Review: This is a great neighbourhood restaurant. Attentive service, casual relaxed atmosphere, freshly cooked homemade food. Our table was beside a gas fireplace in a small alcove. Freshly cooked food. Vegan and vegetarian friendly. I've been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed.
Order: caesar drinks were yummy. so was bruschetta. fish and chips were pretty good. another time i'd felt like a healthier fish option and told the chef who was walking by our table. he whipped together a delicious white fish with almonds/almondine sauce.
Review: it was one of those places i'd always passed by and meant to try. liked the chill atmosphere and diverse menu with veggie options. i've told several friends and all are pleased to have found a new neighborhood spot.
