The Waveland Cafe is the kind of place they have in a lot of small towns where you can find big breakfasts made with local ingredients. The portions are generous and the price is low. They even have a booklet at each table telling you where they buy the bacon and sausage. If you like a good "country breakfast" there's nowhere better around Des Moines, or probably central Iowa.
