  • The Osteria, a quaint French-italian cusine-style resturant in cozy Old Beloeil, boasts a large variety of wild meats, including Kangarou, however the night I visited the Kanagarou was not on the menu. I had the Table D'Hote Steak and Fries (cooked in Duck fat) only because I heard rave reviews and had to compare it to my other great Steak and Fries restuarant. My meal aside my table also ordered Ostrich and Seafood Pasta and were also impressed with their portion and taste.
The Table D'Hote comes in 5 services, which I like, and all were delicious, including the Hydromel sauce drizzeled over the veal and pastry. I wanted the recipte, but no one was giving up the secret ! (smile)
The wine list was not as impressive as the food menu, and many of the listings were 3-5 times the liquer store prices... which is a shame because I love a good wine with my steak, my friend decideds to splurge and opted for a relatively less expensive French wine that was great.
I recommend the Sangria with your entrees, it is very tasty and refreshing, which is not always easy to find.
The Osteria does not lack in service, there is always 2-3 waitress managing your table, and you are not left to wait to request something, they have a thorough knowledge of their menu and are very professional and courteous.
The dessert, included in the Table D'Hote was a selection of two bite size gourmet pastries (creme caramel and cheese cake) and a tablespoon of ice cream drizzled in chocolate. Very satisfying and not too over indulgent.
I recommed your next special occaision or family celebration at the Osteria. They also have a lovely balconey outside with room for couples to share a summer meal together along the lovely old style streets of Beloeil.
A final note, the chef came out at the end of the night to inquire about our gastronomical experience and wish all of us a good night, it was a thoughtful gesture in a busy fast paced industry. I highly recommend you try Osteria.

  • Order: Table D'hote, Steak et Frits includes 5 services including main dish.
