  • We and some friends had the pleasure of dining at Marly's last evening. A few weeks ago we were informed that there would be a new menu and we were anxious to try it. The appetizers we chose were really special. Our two friends tried the Tuscan white bean soup with spicy sausage and they raved about it. I tried the mussels and was surprised what a large portion there was. It could have been a meal! The broth was so good, that I went off my diet and scooped up every last drop with my bread. My companion had the Ahi Tuna which is not something I would order, but she gave it a thumbs up. We all ordered different entrees which we enjoyed, but the big hit was the Stuffed Sirloin. It is a rolled sirloin with broccoli rabe, sun-dried tomato and manchego stuffing served with assorted root vegetables in a wine glaze.(I took the menu with me so that I could remember the ingredients). I am a Marly's Cheestake fan but I think that this dish may be even better. It was a perfect summer evening and we sat out in their back-yard dining area. My only negative critique is that the garden area needs a little TLC but this is their first year so I am sure that will improve with time. I also noticed that they put some outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant for those people who like to people watch and see the comings and goings of the ever changing Phoenixville scene.

  • This is a first class restaurant in a town that has seen a restaurant boom. Marly's food and ambience is a reason to come into Phoenixville, hunt for parking (the main lots are across the street from this restaurant) and have one of the most enjoyable dinners you will have. The food is not for one who just likes pizza or burgers, but for those who want a food experience. I have been delighted in quite a few dinners here and try to order something different each time and have never been disappointed. I usually go for the specials - which are really special - but lately have been trying the food listed on the daily menu. Each one has been done to perfection and the tastes and presentation are supurb. Marly's cheese steak is to die for (filet topped with a roquefort-walnut crust) but I think my favorite is the porcini crusted Ahi tuna. I had this last night and it was done exactly to my specifications. The portions are good and the service is friendly. In the summer they will have outside dining and I can't think of a place in Phoenixville that has a backyard area that you can enjoy such a fine meal in so lovely a setting. During the other times of the year you can enjoy the lovely front porch where you can have your fantastic meal while you "people watch" There is a lot going on in Phoenixville now and Marly's is a key ingredient.

  • Order: porcini crusted ahi tuna

  • Food was very fresh and served at the perfect temperatures. (Hot food hot, cold food cold.) Our service was quick, but not in a way that made us feel rushed. The wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu items. The restaurants atmosphere is warm and inviting. The decor is clean and modern. Loved the wood panel ceilings in the front dining room with the original brick walls.
The food was excellent. Prepared in a timely manner (even on a busy Saturday night) and seasoned perfectly. Portions were generous and priced well.
I have eaten at Marly's twice and both times have walked away with a very positive dining experience. Looking forward to more meals at Marly's!

  • Order: Southwest rubbed sirloin, grilled romaine salad, panko crusted crab cakes, Marly's cheese steak, rock shrimp chowder, Tuscan artichoke bisque, Jersey bruschetta with hanger steak, heirloom tomato salad, peanut butter chocolate chip bread pudding

  • We tried Marly's the 3rd weekend it was open, and I was worried at the small menu, but was extremely impressed with the food. Our waitress was definitely sub-par unfortunately, and we chose to sit outside, which ruined the ambiance (kitchen fan too loud, bug bites and way too dark, couldn't see food). I'd like to try again sitting inside, since the food really was good.

  • Order: "Cheese Steak" (filet mignon with blue cheese), bruschetta/hanger steak

  • Only been open two weeks but decided to try walking in on a Friday night. What a surprise to see a very pretty remodeled old storefront/house on Bridge Street in Phoenixville. Hardwood floors throughout and even an outdoor dinning area, looked at it but did not seem that inspiring or a place we wanted to have dinner. We opted for the indoor porch area overlooking the downtown traffic where if you do not know where to park, you could get frustrated and just drive away!

Anyway, the soup and entrees were prepared very nicely and had a good taste. As a BYO, it's a great way to have a nice relaxing dinner.

Looking forward to a return visit, not an everyday restaurant - a little pricey. If they want to survive, they made need to tweek the menu for the weekday crowds.

Best of luck - good potential, hope they can make it with all the other eatries in downtown Phoenixville. Other than restauants, the town is in need of retail, over 25% of strorefronts are vacant and parking is a BIG Problem.

  • Order: Grouper Special and Hanger Steak
