Paradise Buffet

I missed their buffet because they close it down 1 hour before closing which makes absolutely no sense to me.

So this is my 4th try at Lebanese food in Windsor & if you compare it to Toronto's restaurants or even fast food places there, it's the pits, & even the food in Toronto isn't all that great, but it's like 10 stars compared to the food over there.

Doesn't anyone know how to cook in this city of Windsor?

I'm pretty sure the cook wasn't even Lebanese & the waitress sounded Russian.

The lentil soup was wattery, there was no lentil bulk to it, & it had no flavour. I couldn't even taste lemon & they are supposed to give you lemon wedges which they didn't.

The hummous was mediocre, the baba ghanooj was worse. I didn't take what was left over home.

The shish tawook came with 4 chunks of chicken which is unheard of, it was lukewarm & tasteless.

I had mougadra instead of plain rice & while it was dry, it was the only think I could stomach to eat because the oily onions gave it SOME flavour.

There was no salad, just slices of cucumbers that were so bad, my son wouldn't even eat them, so I didn't even bother trying them.

At the end I tried his shawarma & spit out the food, it was 100% horrible & I can't believe he ate it.

He liked his fries, but to me they were frozen & not even half decent frozen quality.

As the waitress said to me which a waitress should NEVER say to a customer - the cook just wants to get out of here. She said that even before we ordered. I felt like we were being pressured & we arrived 30-35 minutes before closing.

I have a feeling that no one in Windsor knows what good Lebanese tastes like if they continue to go back to these restaurants & keep them afloat.

I long for Sababas on Steeles in Thornhill. They have been around for ions & still dole out quality Lebanese food.

It's worth going at least once.
