  • Should have walked the other way when I noticed it was almost empty. Thats a big hint. Food was greasy and lukewarm. They are not keeping the food at a decent temperature and to find something that looked edible was a chore. I will never go back again. They couldn't pay me. I'm surprised they can actually stay open.

  • This is the worst chinese buffet I have ever been too. The waitress never came back to fill up our drinks, the smell of that nasty fish pond at the front of the store is overwhelming.
The food itself isn't horrible, but it just tastes like they cut some corners. The chicken balls/ chicken soo guy are mostly breading and no meat.

I also appretiated the sign they posted on our table
    "Please don't waste any food"

Hello?!? this is a buffet!, I will not be returning here in the near future

  • Firstly, for the record, I'm not the type to complain about food! Nor am I or my friends complainers - and I've never written a review about a restaurant before - but this time, it's my obligation to let you know what we experienced!

I've been there a few times, usually for lunch - and the food was generally OK - but three days ago 4 of us decided to go there for dinner. We got in, got the usual greeting, got seated, and right away we went for the food. Simply looking at the food we knew something was wrong. EVERYTHING looked old. To be exact, the steamed vegetables were brownish (not the typical green), the sweet and sour sauce was thick (and tasted metalic) with a rather nasty top layer of very thick skin, all battered food (chicken balls, etc), were a rather dark brown (not the usual golden yellow). Anyways, the texture and the taste was terrible. The things I had I did no finish. My friends made comments about their food and also could no finish their plates. I went for my 2nd plate of desert, which was terrible. The chicken balls were hard and a little warmer than room temperature. My fork barely went into the 3 I tried (I had a few more on my plate, but after the 3 I decided to leave them alone). The brownie (?) was so hard that I picked it up and dropped it on the plate to show my friends that it made a loud sound as though I was dropping a small dry slice of bread. It was nasty! The food was terrible, disgraceful - but that's only half the story!

My chinese friend, who knew that the lady working was the owner, went up to her and told her we were very unhappy and would she do something. She said no becasue we shoudl have told her we were unhappy right away (true, but we didn't have multiple plates and at first we didn't want to complain). We decided to leave and not even try anything else. We went up to the owner to pay, and my other friend asked her if she was the manager (he knew she was the owner), and she said no - didn't ask why he was asking, she just gave him a business card and pointed at the name (Rule Wu, manager), and just said "call him". Not an ounce of professionalism in her tone or demeanour! At any rate, when all bills were paid -no tips!-, we went outside and a family was just walking in - we told them not to go in, explained why and they turned around and also left. I was never ever so disappointed in a restaurant before! I will never give that place a penny because we got treated like some silly children! Bad food happens, but terrible customer service is unforgiveable!!! The only single thing going for that place are a few very polite and professional waiters and waitresses (none of whom where there during this visit). The young gentleman is super, and so are some of the ladies - they are very efficient and they are welcoming. The problem here is the owner and her cheapness (leaving old, dry food out and then telling us it's our fault we didn't complain earlier) is comical!!!! If you're seriously doubting this review, fine - but do come back and write your own after your experience. At any rate, this just goes to show that customer service still makes or breaks the deal. Good luck to anyone who wants to try this place!

  • We were visiting Windsor for the first time, my husband wanted a chinese buffet, so we found this in the yellow pages and it wasn't far from our hotel. By far, the WORST chinese buffet (or any kind of buffet) I have ever had. I'm used to sub-par food at these types of buffets, but this one set new lows. The meat in the various chinese dishes was grissly, the chicken wings were sopping with grease ... even the croutons for the salad were awful, they were so stale they had no crunch left ... does anyone bother to taste the stuff before they put it out!?!? Half-repaired chairs stacked up at the front door, the big fish pond in the entrance had a horrible smell to it. And all for $15 (not a bad price for a Sat night buffet, but now I see why). All in all, the most disgusting restaurant experience I've had in a long time.

  • I don't know about the other reviewers, but I love Buffet Windsor! I have gone a few times, and every time we go, the food is amazing. It's hot, fresh, and the buffet is well-stocked.

Of course, if you're the type of person without any dignity who stands around the crab leg tray waiting for that one particular dish to be refilled constantly, then I guess you'd be disappointed. It's great seeing "mature" adults standing around getting upset over one dish when there are so many other great dishes they could choose from instead. It's worth the money to eat here, and the service is fast and friendly every time I go.

My favourite thing about this place is that they seem to be the only place in Windsor that has western style ginger beef, the breaded kind, and it's delicious!

  • All food is apparently cooked in the same old grease. A lot of the food had stale taste to it and much of it was cold. A totally disgusting eating experience. I wouldn't feed this food to my worst enemy. I would not set foot in this place again.

I was surprised by the number of people in the place. I would have to assume they were not repeat customers.

I also noticed that they dispose of the leftover ice cubes in the urinels in the mens washroom. (what are the ice pitchers doing in the washroom?)

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

  • Dog Food. Sorry that's all I can say. And all the stupid signs about "don't waste food or you will be charged extra!!!" are not classy at all. Chinese buffets aren't the greatest to begin with but this one is the one that gives all the rest a really bad name. Avoid.

  • One night after a funeral we were so tired, hungry and needing some food really quick. It was 9:00 and the buffet was pretty empty. I should have known to just walk right out but, being very tired and hungry... We stayed.
    BIG MISTAKE
I am very surprised that we didn't get sick from the food. It was garbage.

Normally i would have said something or walked out but, in this instance, like i preiously said.. i just came from a funeral, I was too sad to complain.

If you can't keep a little fresh food in the buffet without it getting crusty, cold and chewy, you should CLOSE early. It doesn't matter if i am one of your first patrons or your last, i pay the same amount, i expect the same quality food.
We will not be going there again, My advice... Don't go after the regular dinner hours between 6-7:30pm or you might be sorry.
