The Crown And Firkin

On "wing night" the wings are precooked and dry. They are cheap but they are small (very small by restaurant standards) and they cool down quickly on the plate on which they are served. They'd be better in a basket...

Atmosphere is adequate but dated.

Washrooms are a joke....

Had a "wing night" for a group from work. 25 cents for wings on a Thursday night. Cheap night out. Wings got mixed reviews. I like the bourbon chiplote but 2 other didn't. I didn't care for the medium nor the hot. Others loved the hot. Server was busy but still managed to make sure we were well looked after. Nice pub atmosphere.

I go often to the Crown and Firken.
The bar staff know exactly what I like and want.
There is a wide variety of customers and I have become friends with a number of them. They come from all walks of life, so I'm sure you will be able to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

The other reviews I see here seem to be from very busy periods at this establishment. I know for a fact that all the staff work very hard and try their utmost to serve everyone as quick and efficiently as they can.

Wing nights ... well at times are standing room only and there can be a wait so come early.

The patio can get packed on weekends and early evenings starting as soon as the weather warms in the spring and until as late in the fall as possible. It is always open and heated in the winter if you need to go out for a quick puff.

Thursday nights (wing nights Mon & Thurs) the college types come early to start the weekends off so this can also count for some of the busy complaints.

The have a huge selection of domestic and imported beers so something for everyone.
The menu is standard across all Firken Pubs so if you’ve been to one then you can expect the same good food here but …
Always check out the special boards cause this is where the cooks really shine IMHO.

We come here most Thursdays for the wings. We have order other items as well. The staff are friendly and very nice to our kids. They seem to know that this goes a long way with people. They remember our order even when I don't.

it took 15 min for a server to come take our drink and wing order which she took at the same time. our wings came out before our drinks i think i will stick to the kilt where the service is fast and there food starts cooking after you order it. oh yeah the firken wings were horrible.

I love coming here for drinks. The patio is huge, but cozy at the same time. My friends and I love people watching and this is the place to do it in Whitby

This is a great place to enjoy ,good ,no nonsense food.I enjoy the the Traditional menu.The Beer is always great.If there ever was a local pub in Whitby this is it.The Bar staff are friendly at most and there is always a good sporting event on screen.This is a great place to go and have a chat with your Buddies.A sign of a good pub is not the grub its the beer.

I felt I was starrring in mission impossible, as it was nearly impossible to get a drink! Not because the bar was busy, the bartenders are slow and that's putting it nicely! Expensive too
