T & D Steak-Burger

We've visited T&Ds in the past and have enjoyed the typical breakfast there, but since have gone out to a number of other family breakfast spots. The staff at T&Ds has always been friendly and good at their jobs. But today it was the worst. I ordered the special perogie breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, rye toast. What they brought on the plate was swimming in oil, blacked, and crispy little pieces of egg. Maybe the chefs had an off day but each time I go there, its been greasier and greasier. Very disappointing. Never will go back since other family restaurants are available the area.

It is indeed a friendly restaurant, and the food is good. I have been going almost every weekend for brunch and most staff is nice and helpful.

Today, however, I was treated very rudely. I experienced eating out in many different countries, on 3 different continents, for the past ten years, but I can honestly say I have never felt so humiliated and belittled in my entire life. So I order my food and eat it, then I start to sip my tea while reading my book, when one of the staff members (older, grey hair and glasses, not a teenager hence he should have known better) comes to me and asks me to clear the table, because other people are waiting (I am at the smallest table in the back by the way). As I am polite and helpful, I do leave without complaining, but reflecting later, that was so uncalled for! I have worked myself in a restaurant, so I know that plainly asking a customer to leave the table IMMEDIATELY after finishing their food is a big no no!

Typical greasy spoon. Small dining room results in frequently feeling rushed. Good sized portions. Home fries over cooked but the rest was very good.

Service was very friendly and quick. Be prepared to wait line up to get a seat for breakfast.

We order mostly take-out from this place. We'll probably be ordering from here again, because my husband and son love the food. But I find their food terribly bland.

First, in response to those customers that felt they were rushed; you clearly have never been in the restaurant business or know business at all. In order to keep all the customers happy, they need to be seated. When some choose to stay too long after ordering only a coffee, choose to sit at a table that seats 4 and there's only 2 in your party or in general just like to bitch and complain need to figure it all out. This place is always busy because they're food is wholesome and homemade, the price is completely affordable (especially when you're receiving REAL beef hamburgers, eggs, potatoes, etc.) and the service is friendly, fast, cleanly and fair. I've never gone to a place where the servers not only know you by name but they know your order and ensure it is brought to you hot. They have the highest ratings for a clean establishment around (look at their grill in the morning, it'll shine because they're cleaned every night!) . The owners are an amazing family, so you feel like family when you visit. I'll admit, my favorite server is the tall, dark and handsome one. He makes your meal enjoyable through conversation and joking around. All in all, it's the best restaurant around, just look at those long line ups!

This place is amazing! Great food, best eggs i've ever experienced. Definetly something to wake up for!
T&D's is like family, but they make you pay for the food. Its great, I recommend this place to everyone!

The food quality is exellent. The place is too small for the community response to the food. Yes they crowd you in and try move people around that is irritating. Some of the servers althought friendly are a little over the top. The price is not cheap but worth it when you want a great breakfast. Washrooms need work (like to think the kitchen has better standards) I recommend this restaurant but worn them about the line up or the treatment regarding moving people after they are settled.
If they could find a bigger dinning room and reduce the price they would be the place to go.

Although this place is always swamped when i come in ,they always try to make me feel like they appreciate my business. These jerks that complain that they are being rushed are priceless.I see them all the time, they finish eating and feel that just because they spent 6 dollars they have earned the right to sit there and read the paper for half an hour, totally oblivious to the huge line up right in front of their face! Keep doing what you're doing T&D, these idiots that complain will probably be waiting in line next weekend!

This is probably the greatest food for breakfast in Whitby. Quality and good portions. A little more expensive than some but worth it. The service is personal and friendly. I agree the only issue is how busy it can be and I don't like being asked to move or hurry up either. I still go back though because of the food.

T & D is short for Tom and Danny who are a father and Son team who have many years of restaurant experiance .

This is a typical (but clean) steak and Burger/breakfast place run by a macedonian ( not greek) family and they do a good job. The only complaint is they get too busy at times due to the courthouse and Region headquarters nearby so they try and move the tables quickly as people are waiting. I often get take out and never have a problem.

The very bad review from the person who got the " bums rush" is an abberation not typical - give them a try.
