Well, that last review is VERY revealing.

Very.

You see, KREBS IS CLOSED!!! Yes, this BLIGHT on WHITBY has finally closed its doors. If you really miss the food you had at Krebs I would suggest dumpster diving or a 4th rate nursing home.

Good Riddance.

We have been going to Krebs since it was changed from an Ali Baba's. It's nice to find a restaurant still around with a salad bar.

Service is the very best! The food is good (it used to be better). Portions are on the small side.

The decor needs updating but it's clean and relaxed.

4th lowest rating of all restaurants in Durham Region. There's a reason for this. Don't buy the 5 star plants from the owner. This place is a dive.

well here I go after letting you all know I was going back on the weekend...we did...!
my husband and I had the steak and scallop special and our friends had the prime rib and the chicken parm.....again our meals were just perfect....the steaks were ordered med and med rare and that's what we got....the steak was larger than we had anticipated and very tasty and succulent....the prime rib was ordered well done and came perfectly prepared and certainly not burned....my friend said her chicken was very juicy and very tasty as well....the green beans were a little hard for my liking but better than I have ever had anywhere.....I like my veggies well cooked...not their fault.....my husband had the baked potato and it too was very fresh....since the rest of us are dieting...no potato or pasta for us.....the salad bar was well stocked with a good variety and I was quite able to satisfy my dietary needs.....my husband said the mushrooms with bacon sauce of some kind was very good as well as the coleslaw....the bread was the same as New Years and my husband said was just as wonderful now as then......my girlfriend received a complimentary cheesecake which although not on her diet she did eat "it was her birthday after all" and she said was delicious.....and again the atmosphere was the ultimate for an enjoyable evening with friends...we were able to hear each other speak....they know the true meaning of " background music"....this is for sure our all time " special" place....we give our compliments to the owners and staff.....job well done...!!!! there were only 3 or 4 empty tables while we were eating and the cars were piling in when we were leaving...that must tell you all something...right ....!!!!!

I have been to Kreb's three times and have had a wonderful experience all three times.....the last time was New Year's Eve.....my husband and I both had the Rack of Lamb and our friends had the Prime Rib....all meals were delicious....the service was excellent and we waited no time for our meal....I have to say although the salad bar was sufficient , I think it could use a few more items....however still a great value considering you don't get even a salad when you go to places like the Keg and look at their prices.....the background music was just at the right volume so we had a very relaxing evening.....the place was very busy and had a line up when we were leaving.....I just can't believe all the bad reviews.....the four of us are going this Friday to celebrate my friends birthday....looking forward to it....!!!! I do agree that the outside of the place needs some work but the inside overall is somewhat elegant with that old castle feel.....loved it....!!!!!!!

My wife made me go. I swear I didn't want to. We had eaten there a few years ago and I didn't really like it, but my wife said lets give it another chance. So we did. What a mistake.

The place was very run down last time we were there. Obviously they have done nothing since and now everything in the restaurant is battered and worn out. It looks like it was last remodelled when it opened in 1975 or so. Glasses on the table and cutlery were dirty.

We did the salad bar. No screaming thrill there. Usual sub par chopped up veggies, gray lettuce and sickening gooey dressings. Kind of what you would expect at a KFC. Drinks were drinks, how can you mess that up? Dirty wine glasses, that's how!

The steaks we ordered were cooked wrong. I ordered Medium Rare and my wife ordered Medium. They showed up as burned and unrecognizable. Honestly they were dried out as you can get. We sent them back, the kitchen sent them back untouched, we sent them back again. Explained to some cook what our order was and he said that we ordered them well done. We know what we ordered but they wouldn't honour it. We got up, paid the bill and left.

I won't go back.

Went to Kreb's for a makeup party dinner and could not believe how great my dinner was. Salad was fresh, my meal presentation was lovely but more importantly, it was one of the best seafood dishes I have eaten in quite a while. It was a great delight!

This had to be the worst experience..ever! My chicken was pink inside but I did not have another 70 minutes to wait since my infant daughter was becoming restless. The chicken parmigan was hard as a rock and another diner had hair in her food, twice! On the garlic bread and in her entree. The wait staff did not even offer a reduced price for the inconvienence.
The owners should be embarassed..

Service was great considering there were 50 of us.
Chicken supreme was dry and boring.

Krebs needs to do something about their decor. The place looks like a haunted house from the outside all covered with those big trees. We passed by krebs so many times before finding it. No wonder the restaurant is dead all the time. We were the only customers they had while we were in. The food is way too salty and burnt. We WONT BE GOING BACK.
