Blue Sea Fish & Chips

Came in half hour before closing,felt like we were imposing on them. Cooks were cursing in the kitchen. I thought Chef Ramsay was working there
Fish and Chips were undercooked. soggy.If they put a $10 off coupon in the Whitby This Week, I may be persuaded to go back.

I have been going to this place for years and drive out of my way to get there, the Fish & Chips is great and consistantly. Cannot comment on the in-restaurant service as I have never sat down and ate there, but can say that they are always busy so must be doing something right.

Hmmm. Reviews of perfect 10s following a couple complaints. How nice to see the restaurant staff rating their own restaurant! Bravo! My hats off to you.

I can sympathise with the bad reviews because my wife and I went with our neighbour and we had a less than thrilling experience. After the waiter took our order, she failed to acknowledge us and we had to constantly wave to the counter to get more drinks and sauces. Here's a message to the waiters - PLEASE COME TO THE TABLE AND ASK US IF WE ARE DOING OK!!!! Don't just stand behind the counter and do the fake smile like you're doing us a favour. I know I sound bitter but it got so annoying after a while we were just going to stop eating and walk out without paying. I will never eat here again. It seems they do not value their customers at all.

Very bad customer service, waitress was rude (some older lady with gray hair) snapped at you when you asked for something, my guests were terrified and aghast at her behaviour. Food was okay...just didn't have much of an appetite after the way we were treated. We had invited along with us some guests to lunch who were visiting from out of town. This is NOT the place to take along your guests or anyone for that matter! If you like bad service and waitresses who snap back at you, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid at all costs.

I love the home cooked breakfast. Truly the best place to eat. We have eaten there for lunch, dinner and breakfast and truly it doesn't compare to anywhere else I've eaten. I would recommend it to anyone.

I went with a party of 4. The food was good, restaurant was very clean but the service was horrible! The waiter serving us was incredibly rude. I didn't realise that I had to get up, go to the counter and call the waiter for something. Also, well getting a refill for my soft drink which was supposed to be FREE, I was re-charged the price of a soft drink. The waiter did not mention anything about re-charging me if I were to get a different soft drink. They are filling them from a fountain, so why does that make a difference? When I asked her about it, she snapped back rudely while rolling her eyes - "Well, we don't TELL our customers on the menu that we offer free refills either."

Even though the food was average, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not go there again, nor do I recommend this place to anyone. We did not leave a tip for the waiter. It's a shame it cost her.

If you really enjoy your fish and chips this is the place to go in Durham. Great gravy and very bright and very clean place to eat. All new renovations and the place looks great.
