Review: Came here for an anniversary and was impressed. While the place is definitely pricey, it's a decent place to go for more minor special occasions.
We both got their Calypso Chicken and split a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. Although they didn't have our original choice of wine available at the time, the waitress was able to suggest the Chilean as an alternative and it was fantastic. The chicken was delicious and the mango-pineapple sauce balanced the jerk perfectly so that it was spicy but without too much heat. The potato and vegetable sides were both very good and in reasonable portions. The meal was filling without needing an appetizer.
Definitely a place I'd be willing to visit again. My only complaint was that the lighting was a bit dim. We went earlier in the evening so as to avoid the music and party atmosphere that seems to start up after 9.

Review: One thing: All you can eat Mussels on Tuesday.
We were there at 9pm and spent most of the night sitting and eating right next to a huge thumping speaker. They don't have the best DJs. Same tempo nearly the whole night, and not a lot of variety into funkadelica, electro-funk, electro-jazz, or downbeat. Just dance. And more dance. And ... well, you get the picture.
The mussels were large and tasty - and the spicy curry sauce was so good I spooned the rest of it because I ran out of bread.
The big semi-nude painting in the lounge has to go though. Poor colouring of the paint (very muddy), and without a lot of variation. Student work, at best. I think its sheer size is what keeps it in place.

Review: Went for lunch - food was AMAZING, though the portions were relatively small and it wasn't cheap. The waiter was friendly to the point where it was almost creepy. Very nice decor - I felt like we were seated unnecessarily close to the other guests when there were lots of open tables, though. Maybe the acoustics aren't great?
All in all, a very nice place. Somewhere you could bring a date or business acquaintance.

Review: Drinks are alittle pricey and the meal as well for the type of atmosphere. It's very clean and we were treated very well when we first walked in. Our waiter had used some sarcasim which i'm not into, but overall good.
We got thai stirfry with chicken(which was good) and the dessert platter(which was very nicely displayed and was great) and two drinks was almost $80... we didn't even get an appitzer. so expect to spend money. But I have dined in other much better price points for what we got. I love the Raja restaurant in Stratford and we paid $100 to eat there. I'd rather pay the extra $20 there.. so overal good, but prices need to be dropped a few bucks here and there on some items especially in this economy. - Order: Thai chicken stir fry, dessert platter, our friends had the Calypso CHicken(which was awesome) and overcooked cocconut shrimp
- I only go for martinis

Review: This was my second time going here and it was as expected. The ambiance is great, the music was also great - they had a live DJ! I think the food is generally overpriced so that is why I only go for the martinis: pure delicious. I split the dessert with my date and found it to be ok. Overall it is a good venue for a first or second date, not too loud and in a great location. Washrooms were clean and had all sorts of products (cologne, moisturizer
etc) which could come in handy. The server was helpful but nothing to write about; I didn't have a terrible experience like it seems many others had. - Order: Martini's and dessert. I believe the drinks were called 'mint chocolate' and the other was lazy afternoon (or something like that)

Review: My girlfriends and I had a wonderful lunch out on Rude Native's beautiful patio, even the construction beside the patio wasn't too bad on the eyes due to the rustic men working on the parking lot at the mall. We shared our appetizer's which came out rather quickly by our elegant server Tanya. She guided our table through the menu to make our decisions at ease. Boy was she right on the money, the Food was fabulous! The sangria just topped off the afternoon, I have never tasted it this good. I felt like a gitty school girl, chatting away with my friends in such a nice atmosphere. I give this resturant 3 gold stars! The new management really seems to be working for them. The washrooms added such a unique touch to our experience they had everything a girl could ask for, but forgot to put in her purse!
- Order: WE enjoyed the Goat Cheese Brulee, Rude Salad with Chicken and the Pad Thai, Morrocan Curry, and Big Daddy Burger, the safari platter of delicate desserts, and shared pitchers of red and White Sangria.
- Great dinner!

Review: I have to admit, coming from out of town and friends made the reservation. I had no idea what type of establishment I was going to. I looked on this website and I was AFRAID to go to this place!! But I didn't want to insult my friends as they are frequent diners here.
I was absolutely pleasantly surprised!!! If you complain about the $$ chances are you can't afford to go out in the first place as we were getting 9 ounce glasses of wine for the price of a 6 ounce, we were informed it's a Monday thing!! Our food was fresh fast and my God those firecrackers are dreamy!!
Our server Wendy was very efficient and entertaining and the staff worked well together as the restaurant was busy and we didn't wait one ioda!
I recommend that you GO and try on your own....there are alot of negative people in the world who just can't be pleased so don't let their review ruin it for you!Kerri

Review: I've always wanted to try The Rude Native so my mom and I went to the restaurant today for lunch. Everything was going fine. The meal was quite tasty and our waitress was very friendly. Part way through my meal I noticed a fly in my salad. I thought it was gross but no big deal, stuff like that can happen anywhere. A few more bites into my salad and I feel something incredibly hard between my teeth. I accidentally chomped on it again before removing it from my mouth. I cleaned it off and analyzed it. It look like a tiny piece of glass, twisted metal or plastic. It was likely a small piece of plastic, possibly something that had fallen off of a cleaning instrument or some sort of utensil. A woman walked by our table. She was not our waitress and looked like the manager of the store (as her attire was different from all the waitresses). I mentioned to her that a dead fly was in my salad but I stressed that I wasn't too concerned about that. What distressed me was this hard plastic/metal piece that I almost swallowed so I brought that to her attention. My mother and I were completely shocked at her reaction. She looked skeptical and defensive and immediately said that it was likely a black pepper. I assured her that this was not the case and handed it to her which she conveniently dropped and then just said oops and stared at us. After an awkward moment of silence she reluctantly said "i'll give you your salad" (i.e., for free) and left. Wow! My mom and I were originally going to stay for dessert but we were so appalled by this woman's behaviour and skepticism that we wanted to leave asap. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CLEARLY NOT HER FORTE. I will never return to that restaurant again which is a shame since the food was quite tasty. If any employees form the Rude Native (Waterloo) are reading this, I suggest that you speak to management about customer service skills and the importance of treating the customer with respect and value.
APPALLED!
