Sonny's Drive-In

Best burger in town, fresh cut fries. 'Nuff said. Apparently I have to write 25 words about their great burgers so I will. Their burgers are great.

I ordered fish and chips. There were only two people ahead of me in line, but the service was brutally slow.
I got my food to-go, and when I got back to work (on lunch break) to eat it, I found a long, curly black hair in my french fries. I literally gagged.
I called them to let them know, and they did not seem to care, nor did they offer me any compensation for my inedible meal.
I will never go back.

Such good comfort food. Best place in Waterloo to get a Hamburger. Thought the onion rings were also the best i've ever had. The location could use a bit of updating though, mainly more seating but overall not bad. The only thing is that they only take cash... so for a couple who never carries cash we always need to make a stop at the bank beforehand. Staff is always very friendly even at the busiest of times. Will be returning for many years to come and hope to take my children here one day.

I've been visiting Sonny's with my father for the past 20 years and he'd been eating there for about 20 year prior to that. I've never been disappointed, the food is always excellent, the owner is great, he's always remembered me even if I hadn't been in for a year. The milkshakes are amazing, the fries are the best in town, the burgers are among the best and, I mean, what beats all that plus a game of arcade style Pac-man while you wait?

It's sooooooo filthy in there, and the guys running the show are total jerks. But the hot dogs and fries totally can't be beat. You watch them cut the fries behind the counter, so you know they're super fresh. They save the really weird looking potatoes and display them behind the counter, which my daughter thinks is the best thing in the world. Even if I moved hours away, I think I'd return occasionally for Sonny's.

There are a lot of better burgers around than this. I definitly will not return. Time to sell and change ownership!

Best Around! Live here for 24 years (all my life) If you ever want fish and fries, nothing beat this place, its 100% family run, and they have the best service!

This place is the greatest, the ultimate, the best burger in North America. I came from Beautiful SoCal just to eat one of these delicacies. My youth was spent here, every Friday-Saturday night after Taps closed but before Sonny's did! The real scene where every KCI and BCI stud hung (WCI and Laurel losers get lost).

Had a craving for hot dogs and thought we'd give this place a try. I'd heard it has been around for years, so they must be doing something right, right?

Well... the food was nothing spectacular, the staff wasn't very friendly, and the place looked pretty dirty. I was very unimpressed, especially for how expensive it was.

I won't be going back.

Best burger AND fries for fast food anywhere in K/W. The burgers are grilled and The French fries taste like they came from a Chip Wagon.

I have seen reviews that it's run down, but the place has been there forever...you go to fast food for the food, who cares about the rest!

Service is fast, but the workers are never that friendly...but again, who cares!

After ordering, I saw one of the workers make fresh onion rings (battered just before frying), and they were the biggest I've ever seen! Gotta try that next time!

So if your ever in the mood for late night deep fried goodness....go to Sonny's!
