Princess Cafe & Espresso Bar

The Princess Cafe has the best paninis in Waterloo, period. Its menu is short, but has enough variety if you're looking for a sandwich/soup/salad at lunch.

I had an italian panini (prosciutto, artichoke hearts, olive tapanade, and red onions) with pasta salad (sundried tomatoes, feta cheese, red peppers, kalamata olives). My companion had the soup of the day (chipotle potato), which was creamy and delicious.

Desserts, alcohol, and specialty coffees are available but we didn't partake on this visit.

Panini + side dish is around $9, desserts are around $5.

My only quibble is that it often takes more than 20 minutes to receive one's order. This seems consistent across a half-dozen visits. It's not a long time to wait in a typical restaurant, but for sandwich and a salad, really?
