The food was bland and tasted like something you find in the frozen foods section in the grocery store. No, wait - it tasted worse than that. Even frozen foods have some taste.
The service was good, at least. The grill and the buffet was so dirty though! - Order: chicken, sauces, veges. not even a good combo could make this meal enjoyable.

Perhaps I should have been wary when the waitress warned that my experience would be invariably tied to my selection of what items I chose to be placed on the grill with my choice of sauces. This obvious statement, with perspective, would demonstrate my folly. This innocent statement would cast the place of blame away from the establishment and shift the responsibility to the patron leaving me without basis to complain given their convenient defense: "You chose the wrong combination. We've had lots of satisfied customers!"
The experience was terrible. The food was awful. The disinterested staff apathetic.
Inspecting the serving tray proved to be disheartening, though I use the verb loosely as any blind moron without sense of touch would tell you that the food is poor and not fresh from the sense of smell alone. The meat especially did not seem to be sanitary. The beef was very thinly cut until it held the semblence of hamburger and was allowed to sit in its own juice... but for how long and at what temperature? The chicken contrasted brilliantly against the large black flies inspecting its breeding ground. Old vegetables. Old everything.
To write a full review I nevertheless undertook the unpleasant endeavor of at least tasting the disgusting mash of food. The restaurant says that your experience is invariably tied to your decision in pairing your "substances" with sauces. I chose a classic combination no fool could possibly fail to make.
Soya-sauce with teriyaki with the least unappetizing beef I could find with some old mushrooms.
The "cooks" quickly took my bowl without so much as a word leaving my to wonder if they would remember whose order it was that they were cooking.
It does not matter if it was cooked on the famous Mongolian grill. Or perhaps it does... the food tasted thouroughly burnt and given the quality of the ingredients simply disgusting. The grill did not seem very clean to say the least. The staff scrubbed frequently but after thirty seconds on the hot grill the food was already burning back on. Entirely unapetizing and probably in violation of some health code. The "cooks" seemed to make sure that it was not undercooked by an ingenious solution: overcooking it.
Do not eat here. For your own benefit and wellfare, do not eat here!
Avoid the burnt overpriced unhygienic sloppily prepared rubbish that is the Mongolian Grill.

Great staff
Good diversity of foodsWhat I don't like about this place is the fact that it's dirty. There don't seem to be enough lights in that place. The "pick your own dish" is kind of misleading since it all tastes the same; bland and burnt. No matter how many sauces you top it in.

Basically just overall a very dirty restaurant. It doesn't help my appetite when I the surroundings where my food is being cooked is disgusting. Hire some cleaning staff who care! The service was okay i guess. The food was pretty crappy. An idiot in their own home could make food in five minutes like the stuff they charged $20 for there.

We have been coming to JB's for a few years. Great novelty place to eat. The food, oils, sauces & spices were top notch. At my last visit I was extremely dissapointed with the quality of the food. The salad bar was simple and clean and now it is a joke. On the stir fry side the meat used to be cut into chuncks, then strips and now it is like ground meat.
The chefs do a poor job of stir frying and do not seem to care if it is burnt as long as it isn't under cooked.
The biggest dissapointment for me was the cleanliness of the food area. It was not too busy when we were in and the food area was a mess with some ingredients having run out and not replaced. Like the salad bar it resembled a vacant lot.
Not sure I will go back to that location. I hope the one in London has not slid down hill like this one has.

We've been here many times, finally taking the time to review it. This is one of my favourite restaurants. The buffet is very tasty, but of course it's only as good as you make it, since you concoct your own stir-fry. The idea behind this place is genius, and the variety of noodles, ingredients and sauces for your bowl is mind boggling. We live a few hours away from the closest Mongolian Grill, but we always visit when we can! Salad/soup bar is good, but we definitely go for the main event - love that grill! I agree with the posted comments about service not being the best, but this is one of those few places that the food really makes up for it. We will DEFINATELY be back one day!

Dollar for dollar, your better off going to either Buffet King or Mandarin.
Our server was not to bad, but the "manager" was very rude to me for not being in the right place at the grill line.
The 'buffet' and grill area is disgustingly dirty. Food litter everywhere, hand washing sink filled with dirty dishes....looked like a scene from a horror movie.
As for the food, it really is what you make it. I tried small portions of 3 different concoctions. Seafood, beef and lamb. All different, all tasted the same, no matter what. Everything has a burnt taste, and is usually contaminated with someone else's dish when cooked.
Overall, Not worth the money spent. It might be a novilty for UW / WLU students, but to the post grad/older person with a keen sense of value and taste, I would recommend somewhere else. - Order: the feast, pitcher of beer.

We came here on Valentines and it was very romantic. The food was excellent although very busy but not too slow. Our server was nice but again it was very busy so we saw little of her. The food is good because you can choose whatever you like and you get a free show when they cook it :)
