McMullans On King

The Waitress was a B*tch!!!! I went there on a Saturday night for my friend's birthday and we were racking up a big tab. As soon I I walked in the door the waitress bumped into me and kept going, I let it slide thinking that they were busy and what not. Then the whole night she was just a nasty person to deal with. At the end of the night she complained that she didn't get tipped enough in front of all of us. I was the DD that night so everyone barely knew what was going on and ignored her. If I had a drink in me I would have given her an ear full but I was sober and shocked at her whole persona and attitude.

They dont like university students. At all. The server was non existent. Its almost as if she was avoiding us. The prices were horrible - a pitcher of Stella came to just shy of $19. Really??? It took half an hour for me to get my credit card back after i said that im closing the tab and we are leaving. I eventually had to go up to the bar and ask the servers. I was treated very rudely although i was being very polite and patient about the whole situation. Eventually after i asked to see the manager i was told that he is busy.... :s
Yes, the atmosphere is great, the pool tables are there at your disposal, the patio is cosy and the food tastes REALLY good. But it also costs an arm and a leg and the staff are rude. Fox and the Fiddle is across the street people.

A solid place to grab a drink and watch the game. They have a quality selection of beer on tap and a pretty good menu. Their pizza is pretty damn tasty and they have a combo for a pitcher and a big pizza for about $22.

The service is average at the best of times. Typically the waitress is MIA and it can get pretty frustrating. Still, it is a pretty dependable spot to toss back some drinks and still have a decent meal.

I was pleasantly surprised by McMullens yesterday. The patio is slightly below street level, but it's not directly on King St - so no traffic fumes or gawkers.

Chuck, the owner, told me to order their famous pizza. Although I wouldn't call it gourmet (the crust was a little too thick) the toppings were excellent and it was cooked perfectly. Yes, I have a thing for pizza :-)

I didn't eat inside (but I did take some pictures). It's clean, well decorated and has a nice vibe to it. I'm betting it's a great place to hang out on a Friday night after work. Ian, the chef, was happy to pose for me while he made my pizza.

All in all, the best thing McMullens has going for it is the patio. Of course, it was stinking hot the day I visited. A cold beer, good pizza and time just to relax were my priorities.

Would I visit again? You bet!

We enjoyed a warm sun filled lunch on the patio accompanied by a nice cold drink. The Peppercorn Penne was nice and was not swimming in alfredo sauce. Portion size was good with tasty grilled chicken.
The cheesecake was a good way to end the lunch. Only complaint would have been a larger sized piece.
Would go back to try more!

A great pub with exceptional pizza and panzerotti!

The nachos are by far the best in the city. They have a nachos/beer pitcher combo for a good price. This place is awesome to go, get some drinks and nachos, play some pool and just hang out. I'd recommend it to any university student!

Absolutely terrible service at best, that was my third and final time going there. Every time i have been there the servers were very rude, the food took forever, and when it did arrive it was less than average.
Never again will i dine at McMullans!

Usually go there for drinks, but they also have pretty good pub food. Service is usually pretty good. When skool is in full time it sometimes gets crazy packed.
