  • I fail to understand why people still go here and how this restaurant is still in business. My boss and friends used to swear by this place, until of course, I took them across the street to another Indian restaurant (or pretty much ANY other Indian restaurant in Waterloo) and now NO one goes back here. This is the most bland, unauthentic Indian food I have ever had. They have a very small buffet selection (6 items?); even their dessert lacks Indian sweets (ice-cream, and no, there is no mango ice-cream).

If you enjoy food where salt is used as a seasoning or don't really care too much about having Indian food-- this is the perfect place. Instead, if you are looking for kind of Indian flavored food, please, look elsewhere.

  • I am regular customer here for years and yes I am Indian if that really matters. Good food is good food and this restaurant with full confidence is the best indian restaurant. It is family owned and decor may not be upto par with others but food and quality of service is personable and incredible. In terms of negative reviews I am shocked and surprised but as overall observation most Indian customers I find do go overboard with expectations. Overall Great authentic indian food with great service dont be fooled!

  • First of all, HORRIBLE SERVICE! THe owner is incredibly rude and does not care to show customer appreciation or good customer service. THe food was the WORST Indian food Ive ever had, and trust me, Im Indian so Ive been to 60+ indian restaurants. Overpriced for portion sizes, definately not worth it. The quality of the food and taste was horrible. No taste! Butter chicken was watery and didnt even taste like butter chicken should. I can make better rice at home in 2 mins...rice was dry and hard! Overall, the worst place to ever try Indian food. For all of you that actually liked this place, I assume you've never had PROPER indian food before. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

  • This restaurant is awesome - don't be misled by the negative reviews. The naan bread is fantastic, and so is the dishes. Most of all, you MUST order the feast, be it the royal or regular kinds. They come in veg or non-veg and offer an amazing deal.

  • Order: Royal feast (vegetarian), Butter Chicken, naan

  • We tend to eat here at least once a month. We don't have a lot of experience with Indian food outside the Kitchener-Waterloo area, but this seems to be the best in town to us. The Naan bread is particularly delicious.

Good portion sizes and friendly service.

  • Order: Paneer Pakora appetizer. Butter Chicken Tikka with Naan. Maharaja Chicken with Naan. Mango Lassi to drink.

  • Lunch buffet was great I am not sure what restaurant the folks with the bad reviews went but the food was great fresh and hot! I agree the variety may not be there but the food was incredible. I eat there usually for dinner as it is off the menu so the choice is more, but if you want a quick fix in a buffet then this is the place to go!

  • I've been in 'one sauce' curry houses before, and never returned. Muttar Paneer and Aloo Gobi are different dishes, but in this restaurant they looked and tasted the same, because they had the same sauce. Recipe: One sauce, some different ingredients: Voila a menu. I've eaten curry in Bangalore, Columbo, all around the UK, in California and this was not a recognisable curry against any existing standards. The Birayni was the same curry sauce as everything else with a little meat in it with the rice piled on top - again nothing like the expected standard. The curry flavour was as uninspiring as eating in 'black and white', not Colour. The Nan bread was more Afghan than Indian, thin, long and oily, not the sot and succulent bread cooked fresh in a tandoor. The attitude of the serving staff was cold, and I felt as if we were unwelcome guests.

  • Order: Chicken Birayni, Muttar Paneer, Aloo Gobi, Nan

  • Grab your wallet and run - across the street to Ethel's is a much wiser decision. Hmmm - "buffet" sucked, bit into chicken bones that weren't supposed to be there, and wondered if we should prepare in advance and call the paramedics when we saw the unhygienic condition of the food.

I couldn't wait to leave so I could throw up in my own mouth. This does not resemble authentic Indian food in any way.

  • Order: buffet - if you can call it that

  • Excellent service and food, I have been eating at this restaurant for about 8 years, they are very nice people and have great food. For those who have negative opinions about the food and the people I have to say there is no restaurant or server that is perfect all the time. I highly recommend trying them out you will not be disappointed.
