My Co-worker gave me one of their burgers (a large pork slider more like) with fried onions with mayo on a bun and it was FANTASTIC!!!
Greasy as hell and so tasty!
I have to pick up some for my family after work.
Honestly.... This burger is like the American food that you see on "Man vs Food" on the OLN.
Portion size is an issure but you can say in this case that "Good things come in small packages".
- Order: Hamburger with onions.

The Harmony is a living museum – guys, please don’t change a thing. Many reviewers compare this place to those gleaming chromed 50’s nostalgia palaces with pictures of Elvis & Marlon Brando; but I’m 64 years old, and my grandfather used to eat here. They didn’t have jukeboxes back then, and talking movies were the latest thing. I know of no other restaurant that has apparently changed nothing. In addition to that time machine feeling, the Harmony also offers burgers unlike any other; and I have ordered burgers all around the world. Be sure to order two – try the onions both fried and raw.

Absolutely is shock;
I used to go to harmony lunch from the time I was 16. It has been about 12 years since I have been there.I wanted to take my husband and my 2 daughters for the"Harmony Lunch" experience because of my fond memories of that place.
Well, we ordered 2 burgers, one fries, one onion rings, 2 iced teas, 2 chocolate milks, and our bill came to $39.00......................which would have been O.K. under regular circumstances BUT the burgers were SO SMALL that we were actually starving when we went to pay our bill.
So asked the girl to add up our bill again (at which there was NO prices beside items on the bill). When we added the price at which I was charged for each item I was SHOCKED!! The price of the burgers for what we had was a TRUE rip off.
If you take the palm of your hand and make a circle, one inch high, thats how small the burgers were.
So after I asked her to re-add the bill she actually said to me ..."that she didnt have time for this..."
I said well you better find time cause considering what you are charging in here I still hungry!!I declared to everyone in there that I would NEVER go back and that Harmony Lunch is a rip off and there old fashioned values went out the window and the people running it are cheap and greedy.
I could have went to Harvey's or Wendy's or even The Keg and paid much cheaper for a burger and come out feeling full and satisfied for the price.
I feel truly ripped off and ashamed that I talked 'so highly' of Harmony Lunch to my husband......he actually thought it was a joke.
NEVER AGAIN! I hope they close down cause they are riding on an old fashioned business using modern greed to rip off their ol' time customers.

The exterior is unpretentious and looks like it has not been changed in 50 or more years. The counter with swivel chairs is a throw back to the 50's diner style as well. Behind the counter, an old Cornelius cooler keeps the pop cold, an aquamarine mixer makes the shakes, and the soft serve vanilla machine makes especially thick, cold soft serve ice cream. An island style grill is loaded with a huge pile of grilling onions and burgers, ready to be served. Table service is also available. The servers are sweet and prompt and keep busy. Why this never franchised is beyond me--maybe it's not too late!!
- Order: Slider style burgers with onions, cheeseburger with fries, hot beef platter with gravy, soft serve cone, shake, breakfast platter

I used to have an office around the corner in the 70's,
I came back today and 'the Harmony' is just as I left it 30 years ago. The burgers are the same and I don't think I know of any place that that has retained it's character this long. The only change seem to be the prices. It is not fine dining it's 'the Harmony' so don't change just enjoy. - Order: Burger, fries, dutch apple pie for 2

I've lived in Waterloo all my life and have never been to this place. My colleague and I thought we would give it a go today. We were warned the atmosphere was going to be lame....but it was ghetto! As soon as we walked in...no one greeted us or even told us to seat our selves?
Once we were seated, the waitress came over to give us the specials....beans and burgers I think. No drink order taken at that time. Then another waitress came over to take our order. We ordered 2 burgers, onion rings and fries. As she took our order, she coughed all over the menu's and her pen. Given that we are in the flu season that's really disturbing!
Once we received our drinks (canned ginger ale $3.00 and tap water) I asked for a straw that was not sealed. I felt so gross...that germs were crawling all over the table.
Once we received our meals, I was disappointed with the portion. The burgers were very greasy and small. A little bigger then a happy meal burger. The fried onions were not good...and I love fried onions! The fries were small and thin...I expected a Sonny's style fries with the potato skin on them. The ketchup bottle was the kicker.....no lid and it was crusty! We had to get another bottle. The onion rings however were pretty good.
Only Cash....no debit or even credit? Seriously ppl c'mon, it's 2009!
Will never go back! Someone should close it down or clean it up! Yuck!
- Order: 2 burgers, onion rings and fries.

These had to be the greasiest burgers I've ever come across. It seems you either love them or you hate them and my guest and I were in the former camp.
The milkshakes, on the other hand, were thick & delicious. We'll probably go back just for those.
- Order: Burgers, milkshakes
