Golden Griddle Family Restaurant

Disappointed!
Went for the Breakfast buffet, was hoping for a good spread considering the price $11.99.
It was basic fare, scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, etc..not a big variety. the fresh fruit looked dated and we did not touch it. The omlette bar was closed and the owner gave us a ticket to order from the bar only after we had eaten from the buffet...
Not very well kept or modern , My first impression was "what am i doing here?" Staff was courtious, but looked hung over. Over all as a breakfast buffet there are much better choices, and I would not recommend this as one.

When getting a table, the waitress took way too long offering drinks or even silverware. We had to ask a different server for utensils since we'd already been to the buffet and back without receiving any. And even at that point, the server didn't even question why we hadn't been served anything to drink yet. The server we did have eventually gave us drinks, but forgot coffee and couldn't seem to remember to bring more out as she made her rounds in the dining room.

The restaurant was packed and seemed difficult for the servers to keep the dining area clean.

The fact that the still request a tip at a Breakfast Buffet is beyond me, considering they couldn't even remember a round of coffees.

The food here is the greasiest around. Service is terrible. The waitress came to our table at least 5 times after we asked for drinks and didn't bring any, or tell us when they would be there. WE eventually asked her about them and she had forgotten about them. When we first sat down, we had to set the table our selves. She just plopped the forks and knives in front of us and asked us to hand them out to each other. This is one of the few restaurants that i will never go back to.

blt was good. Soup looked like the kitchen sink (tasted like it too) Service was poor. I nwas seated behind the coffee station. It took 15 min for a server. She said "I didnt know you were there"......not my fault

food was OK servers were lacking knowledge of the menu. Resturant decor in serioud need of update

What a day at Golden Griddle. The food was great. Never had breakfast this taste. My food and my date food was execellent. I over heard from other table, they got the best omellete in the world. Server name "Casey", she rocks.

They should rename this place 'The Butter Griddle' Everything we tried tasted, smelled and had the oily effect of a stick of butter. Simply stunning.

My guest and I were determined to find breakfast at the hour of 6:30am and pleasantly stumbled upon a breakfast gem in waterloo. While we waited, we received free newspapers (Echo - very nice touch!)to fill the time until the "grills were fired up". Upon entry to the Golden Griddle my guest and I were seated and served by our wonderfully attentive and caring server "Kim". Our beverages were large and came in neat indistructable cups. No sooner had we ordered than our meals were present. Large portions, properly cooked eggs and hot and toasty homefries! yum. OUr server really went the extra mile to ensure that our meals were upto par, and boy were they ever. If youre looking for a breakfast joint with extremeley reasonable prices (20$ for two people for breakfast, can you say bargain?) then this diamond in the rough is for you. Will definitley return and hope for the same quality food and service.
