  • The food was just okay in my opinion. My husband didn't care for it at all, though. The garden salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, with a few bits of shredded carrot, chopped pepper and cauliflower thrown in. The plate was too small - they should've given us a bowl. Also, I'd asked for my dressing on the side, but it came dressed. At least it wasn't drenched; I'll give them that. Part of the whole tomato in my husband's salad was bad, however. And while we "ordered" the club wrap, what arrived was the club sandwich, but we didn't send it back. The whole wheat bread was thick, but not exciting, and part of my tomato was bad as well. We ended up eating only half of the sandwich because it wasn't very inspiring. I would go to Angie's Kitchen in St. Agatha again, but am less sure about returning here...

  • I have lived in Kitchener nearly all my life, and worked in the restaurant industry for a long time as well...when friends suggested Angie's for breakfast, I was skeptical, having heard a few bad things about the place over the years. That being said, I was quite pleasantly surprised - everything was delicious! I loved the home-made bread and jam, eggs were cooked perfectly (a big issue for me at many places!), blueberry pancakes - amazing! Could only eat about 1/4 of one they were so huge, but wished I had room for more! Our server Arlene was top-notch in every way - I will definately ask if she is working next time I go back, which I will....I hope it is as good as it was this first time! The only possible criticism I could make is that the decor could use some updating, but with good food and good service that hardly seems worth complaining about.

  • Most disgusting food EVER!!! EVER!!! EVER!!! I can't believe what passes for a meal in this joint. My daughter and I had breakfast and neither of us could eat much at all of this: cold runny eggs, soggy toast, coffee that was tood watery yet somehow managed to be full of grinds. Even our server didn't seem to care. In case I was less-than-clear... NEVER AGAIN!!

  • There are a few things that I love about Angies, but a few things that I truly don't.

For one: they have excellent bread with a side of homemade jam with most of the breakfast dishes. Two: they put a full pot of coffee on your table - even when there are only two of you (however, the coffee is nothing to write home about, and often more hot water than coffee - but perhaps that's the coffee lover in me).
Three: The home-style atmosphere is great, and the restaurant's history is spelled all over the walls and in the older generations that frequent the place.

The sour points about Angies on the other hand, have prevented me from visiting often, or recommending it as a GREAT breakfast place.

I found items like blueberries included in breakfast orders are canned. There is a ValuMart across the parking lot. Walk over, buy some fresh ones. Waterloo is in a great location for farm markets. The blueberries on the waffles are a sad, sorry, slop of purple from a can.

The cooks wouldn't know medium-rare if you slapped them in the face with it. My rare steak and eggs came out as a dry, grey, flat piece of meat with over-done sunny side ups. If a steak isn't done properly, I'm happy to send it back in other restaurants.

I might return for something less difficult for them to prepare, like a glass of apple juice and some toast.

  • We should have walked out right away. The place is dirty looking and smelling. We stayed, what a mistake. Fish was so over cooked that the meat seemed to dissapear. The only thing left was the outer batter and that was so greasy that we left it. When the waitress asked if everything was OK, we said no and told her about the fish. She asked if the fries were ok? They were overdone as well. She said "sorry, it is usually better" Then she gave us our bill. We paid the bill, leaving hungry and angry. Will never go back. We ended up at Pita Pit on Northfield and had a great luch and great service.

  • This place hasn't changed in years, which is just fine with me. Pancakes were wonderful, as was the sausage. Will return. Staff are very friendly.

  • went there for lunch and ordered a sandwich...the bread that came out had mold on it...waitress wasn't too nice about it either. I prefered to not have it replaced with more bread from the same kitchen...

  • The food was cold and hard, and our waitress screwed up 3 of our 6 orders. We waited 35 minutes for our food after ordering...who knew it took that long to flip an egg and toast some bread?! The kitchen staff were so loud and obnoxious that we could here them across the restaurant. Terrible atmosphere, service and food!

  • I think the people giving it a 10 are thinking of the one in St. Agatha because this is the WORST restaurant ever! I don't see how anyone with standards could ever like it!!!! Food was terrible and cold and the toast was soggy yet hard at the same time. It was so bad.

  • Here's what happened:
The turkey sandwich I ordered was served on somewhat sweet, oversized, whole wheat bread. The turkey was dry to the point that it fell out of my sandwich in dime-sized pieces, the one leaf of iceberg lettuce was half the size of the bread and laid pitifully beside a thin slice of tomato...

Its really too bad that Angie's doesn't have a decent cook in that kitchen because the personable and attentive staff deserve much more than to serve the dribble that I saw on my plate.
