I went in looking to try their Falafel's I have heard so much about but they were just plain out but the very personable server suggested I try a Chicken Shuarma and boy was he right. This pita dish melted in my mouth and was fresh, tasty and fulfilling. I enjoyed a Mango drink with this and it accented it perfectly. Hats off to the service person for a great suggestion and a fantastic personality. Great friendly service and very appealing food. Thanks for a great evening!

Great home made Egyptian food - very similar to Greek. Don't understand the few bad reviews but maybe Mcdonalds may have been more their taste?

I came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends for the very first time, and boy was it worth it! Irresistable food (and a nice variety of it, including several of their home-made sauces, fresh salads, chicken, lamb, falafel, etc.). The service was excellent, we were made to feel like we were at home. Their egyptian tea is wonderful.
Will definitely be back thats for sure!

The buffet table consisted of a couple small tables with only a few items to choose from. The deserts options (both of them) were on a table in another part of the restaurant beside the mismatched plates. It is partly my fault for going to an Egyptian restaurant knowing that I don't like Egyptian food, but still I must say it was bad, and the home-fries were soggy. There is hardly any service here, so you'd better expect empty plates and water glasses while you eat. There isn't nearly enough quantity or quality to warrant a $14.68 bill, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, even if you like Egyptian food.

Their food is good, and I say good because the quality is inconsistent, one day its really good and one day its not so good... So Average is good.
Apart from that, the service is non-existent, and therefore terrible. I think they leave their kitchen doors open so by the time you get out, you totally smell like food for another few hours at least. Also, their menus and falling apart and extremely dirty, they look so dirty I can't help it but this the toilet seat in my place has less germs than their menu.
I have been there a few times, and I will go when I am absolutely craving their food that I don't care about anything else! Which is like once a year.

We and my fiancé went to this place thinking that a buffet would be nice after a long day of fasting. I read the reviews before I left thinking that it is a good place as all the reviews said it was good. We walked in to the restaurant, and stood around not knowing where to go or order etc… We sat down and waited for someone to come but no one came. This is about 5 minutes later, I went to the counter and asked the woman working there where to go, she pointed at the cash register. Then I asked if there was a menu or do you just start eating, she continued on doing her duties without answering me. I sat back down and waited 10 minutes and figured someone would come by then, I made it clear I wanted service as everyone working there heard and saw me. I said to my fiancé that if no one came in 5 minutes, I’d go over to Shandiz next door. He came right when I was about to leave and pointed to the plates and the Buffet. It is very unsanitary. The food was not fresh and for the price that I paid for the Buffet (which I only found out afterwards) was not worth it at all. There is no room to set your plate down and the Buffet is a joke. It is literally 2 or 3 small tables that hold very stale and minimal food. My bill came to around $34 which I was shocked but paid because I was too disgusted with the place. I was out in 10 minutes or less. The place is dirty, has no ambience, and no service. There were 2 other first timers there at the time (we asked them) and they couldn’t even finish their food (I should of took that as a sign). I’m from Toronto and I honestly think that this kind of food would have gone for $4-$7 in Toronto. I don’t know if this restaurant is just fooling people of how Egyptian food is suppose to be;they put it to shame actually. I also don’t know why there are so many generous reviews on this site; they’re possibly mostly from friends and family or the owner him/herself.
*Bottom Line if you don’t want to read above:
You will only be disappointed with this place unless you’re ordering sandwiches or something. I honestly don’t know why they have the restaurant side if it’s that horrible. And as for sandwiches, go to Kishki’s instead. I’m not a picky eater at all. I don’t mind bad service for good food, or something edible. But I can honestly say that out of all the restaurants I’ve been to, in Canada, US, Asia, and Europe, this would have to be THE WORST. NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE. - Order: 2 Buffets
- is it a restaurant or a fast food counter, guys? Decide, already!

We've eaten here on and off for years, and can still remember in the mid 90's when it was a fancy(ish) place to go for dinner: candles, matching dishes, everything clean, food freshly prepared and exotic. Tried to go there last night for a family gig with the inlaws, called ahead for a reservation. We were told over the phone that they would have menu service; I had been concerned because at lunch all they have is the buffet now, which is very good but gets tired when there aren't many people in the joint.
We show up, someone wanders up from the pita counter at the back, no table has been set up. Two tables are pushed together, one of which has easily 3/4" of wobble, and both are sticky. No, they do not have menu service, just the buffet. No, they don't know why we were told differently.
We checked out the buffet: now, again, I have fond memories of this place and a high tolerance for its foibles, but the majority of the stuff in the steam trays looked as though it had been there since lunchtime. We bailed and went across the street to Kismet (bangladeshi cuisine, order at the counter but EXCELLENT food and good value). I waited inside for a minute to explain our disappointment and why we were leaving, but there was no one in the kitchen and three people working the pita counter at the back...they all looked right at me but couldn't be arsed to come talk to me and I wasn't going to confront them in front of 5 uni students on a falafel bender.
Unfortunately I am addicted to their hummous but I can get that at the market. I'm really not sure I will be gracing the restaurant again.

The food was AMAZING!!!.... You feel as though someone transported you to Egypt in order to enjoy their traditional cuisine. I was surprised that it wasn't spicy. I can't wait to go back. A must try. The BEST tasting food. The owner is friendly and came out to talk to us. I will definately go back.
- Order: I had the buffet and my sister had a pita.
