Best resturant in Durham! How come we didn't hear of it earlier? Super cozy atmosphere, with jackolanterns on display for Halloween. Summer must be nice with the big wrap-around deck. The service was fine, nothing special, but the food... omg! The caesar salad was wonderfully garlicky, maybe a tad over-dressed, and a very large portion. The mushroom cheesecake was very good, although the mushrooms could have been carmelized more for flavour and it could have been served a bit warmer. Other tables around us got bread baskets, but we did not? And no one came to check on us so that we could get bread. Oh well. The ribs were good, maybe a touch too sweet, but tender, fall-off-the-bone. The Lake Erie pickeral was out of this world - a perfect dish with a mountain of leeks in a creamy sauce. The tender sweet beets were the perfect addtion, making all the flavours pop. Delicious.
The carrot cake is everything they say... moist, flavourful, and huge. The peach fruit crumble was soul warmingly delicious.

Despite the bread situation - we will be back!

Tin Mil is always a good choice for a nice meal out - whether its lunch with a gourmet burger and sweet potato frites or a great dinner special.
I'm not a fan of carrot cake, but I've heard its to die for (has pineapple in it, which is supposedly amazing). If you get a chance to have the peanut butter cake its worth leaving room for! Desserts are home made.

Excellent place to dine! The food and service were exceptional! The Owners have done a fantastic job with the old mill. Will be back soon!!

Love this restaurant. We have never had a bad meal. Don and Conrad come up with ingenious menus. It is pricey but worth every penny and the owners and staff make you feel special.

Great food, drink and service in any interesting old building recently restored. There are always lots of people enjoying themselves, adding to the experience. The menu changes regularly and there is a good variety of excellent draft beers from Ontario.
The service was attentive and friendly without being annoying.
The owner keeps a good eye on the food and service, and yet has time to address each table in a friendly fashion.

Very pricey for the portion and taste of food. The risotto was made with cream and was under cooked. A real risotto gets creamy by slow cooking and regular stirring.
The potatoes were gross but the salmon was nice!
