Village Rainbow

The restaurant was absolutely dirty, which made us question if the food was safe enough to eat. The kitchen was an open kitchen, where you could see the cooks, some had hair nets others did not. We went in the evening and the one cook we say coughing and spitting out phlegm into the garabage counter. We had two very expensive vodka martinis in which two shots of thrown on ice and "served" in martinis glasses. As we sipped them we had plenty of time to observe the restaurant and noticed not only the restaurant physically in decay, but also the very unhygienic manners of the cooks. Needless o say we concelled our food and payed the drink bill and left.

the food was yummy, the waiter was great, and it was a nice place over-all. i'd reccomend it to anybody.

I really enjoyed sitting on the patio. When we were done there was no rush to try to get us out of there. We sat and laughed for hours. The owner/manager? was really friendly, introduced himself, and after chatting with us for awhile gave us all complimentary shots. Great family feeling, warm and inviting. Look forward to going again.

this restaurant is absolutely awful. i was there on may 3, 2008. the lady who owns it/runs it.. she was walking around the restaurant talking loudly on a cordless phone in another language the entire time i was in there!! why wouldnt you go in the back room>?? i ordered orange juice to drink - the most low grade, crappy, watered down OJ was served to me, really it was tang. ordered benedict -- and honestly it was the worst id ever seen in my life. i couldnt eat it -- sent it back and left!! the "hollandaise" sauce was a beige color -- it looked and tasted just like whipped mayo. when i politely told the watiress what i was unhappy about and that i would just like to pay for the orange jucie only and leave.. she walked away unable to address the issue - a 2nd waiter then had to come over and take the distugusting "meal' away. the entire time the owner-lady watched as she continued talking loudly on the phone. the two cooks in the kitchen were obvioulsy made aware that i didnt like there whipped mayo and both came out and stared my down while i payed for the orange juice. i would never recommend this, and i will never return.

Good value for money!

Excellent food. Hummus was homemade and pork chops were fresh and tasty. Martini was very addictive. I had two.

The service is unfriendly and there was a bit of a wait to be served. The food, really was typical pub food. However, the restaurant is disgusting. The washroom door handle had dried something on it. The washroom was filthy. The toilet paper dispenser was broken; dangling from the wall with tissue everywhere.

The food was wonderful and the service was very fast and good i would recomend it to all i no.

My friend and I went to the Village Rainbow for breakfast on Pride Day, June 25,2007. He had been there the day previous for breakfast and highly recommended it.
We arrived about 10:30 a.m. and were promptly seated by courteous wait staff. We browsed the menu while coffee and juice were brought to us. Our orders were taken and brought to our table in about 15 minutes which was good considering the place was packed. The food and service are excellent and we plan on making return visits
