Trimurti Indian Cuisine

Had the $10.99 lunch buffet, but many dishes had a smoky/burnt flavor, which gave them an offputting taste.

Not sure if it's just the spice combinations they use or if they add a smoky flavoring on purpose, but Indian and smoke don't go together well.

Too bad because they had one of the broadest selections of meat dishes on the buffet of any place I've tried recently.

Trimurti is one of the best Indian lunch buffet restaurants along Queen Street West. For around ten dollars all-you-can-eat Indian food that actually tastes good. They have the best tandoori chicken i have ever tasted! It is so moist, tender, spicy, well seasoned that i always eat a whole plateful or two before eating the other dishes. Also good are 2 spicy and delicious soups that are always available, chicken soup and a tomato-based veggie soup, both are yummy! The desserts of rice pudding, fruit salad, gulab jamon (syrup-dipped donut ball) are all average as are the three types of salads available. There is also lamb curry, beef curry (dry), potato curry, chicken tikka, chickpea or lentil curry which are all above average but they dont make a big impression on my tastebuds. The restaurant decor is awesome. It is tasteful, clean and fancy. The plates, flatware, glasses are clean too. The waiters are very attentive. Best tandoori chicken anywhere. I highly recommend to friends.

Chicken Tikka Masala was nothing to write home about, orders are fairly small and in a real creamy unappealing sauce. We ordered one hot and one medium. When the waiter/owner dumped them our table, it was up to us to figure out which one was which, medium or hot. He simply walked off and we never saw him again (the place was half full with three wait staff). The Rice dish was bland and portion was small for two hungry people, the Naan was fried and greasy. I'm sure they make more money on drink refills than water, we were never asked to have our ice tea refilled although our water was refilled three times by the "water boy". We visit many Indian restaurants in this city and this one is the worst so far; lack of attention from our wait staff/owner and lack of attention with their overall food preparation. There are three other restaurants in that block (basically), and you would be better off at the others. Don't let the reviews and newspaper columns in the front fool you into believing this place is good and/or authentic. We will never go back and I hope I just saved you 30-50 bucks.

Amazing food! Great price, and good service. It's a small place, and the colours are warm, which makes it feel more intimate. Best Indian restaurant I've tried in Toronto.
