We came here for a birthday dinner. Originally, it was planned for spice route, but something happened, and toula was our alternative.
Atmosphere of this place is pretty nice. Nice view of the city at night. Good view of city lights.
Service wise, our servers seemed really obnoxious. They were really loud and the way they expressed themselves made it seem like they were trying really hard to be from Italy and of Italian culture.
Aside from that, food was horrible! We had a pre-set $40 dinner menu (bc we had a party of about 30 people). It consisted of a toula salad that had baby corn, some fancy cheese, palmed hearts (whatever those were..) and some dressing. It tasted really funny. I only ate the baby corn and cheese..here and there. From the entree list, you can choose from either the veal or the bowtie pasta w/ "Tiger Shrimp". I ordered the veal -- it was decent. It wasn't wow, this taste amazing, its more of thank goodness this is pretty decent. But it was nothing out of the ordinary. Some veal chops with bacon on top, with some roasted potatoes and bell peppers and asparagus. My buddy on the other hand went for the bowtie pasta + tiger shrimp. The pasta came with a tomato sauce and regular shrimp. Honestly, after trying a bit of his dish, I told him, that we can make better pasta than that. The pasta whole dish needed more flavour. It was really bland. It seems as if they really watered-down their sauce or something bc there was absolutely no flavour what so ever.
For desert, they had a fancy name for it, but it was basically creme brulee with some fruit on top. It was also an average dish. Though, the creme part was really warm and the torched sugar part seemed like it needed some more time under the fire.
Overall, it came no where close to meeting our expectations. Perhaps the real menu would of been better, but just from that experience, I would never go back.
Oh, they also forgot to bring my plate out even after everyone received their meal. And they were on and off with their service. For example, they would check on our waters but only at the beginning, nearing the end of our experience, we were really thirsty and waiting for water.

Our Visit to Toula Restaurant was absolutely outstanding. I had arranged in advance a businesss meeting reservation at Toula. Coming up to restaurant was very delightful in their scenic elevator. The hostess greeted us with a warm pleasant smile which made us all feel comfortable upon arrival. I must say that coming from New York, we were all very impressed with the view and the ambiance of the restaurant. If we are talking about Italian food, I strongly believe Toula is at the top of the list in North America. I travel alot across North America for business and dine at many Italaian Restaurants. I haven't come across a restauant like Toula that makes homemade fresh pasta. Hand Made Gnocchi with Provola Cheese and the Crab Ravioli were the two most popular dishes that evening. I personally had the herb crusted Washington rack of Lamb which was grilled perpectly to Medium. The Service was friendly and precise. Our waiter Renato was the highlight of our experience. He is an asset to the establishment for his knowledge on food, wine and customer service is beyond any expectation. I will definately dine at Toula next time i'm in Toronto

We went to this restaurant as we were staying in the hotel, and it was one of the package deal restaurants with Mirvish. First of all we did not use the package deal, for our free meal, as they had a very limited menu for the free meal, and it had no appeal. Other than the view this restaurant has little going for it. The decorating & atmosphere is poor. The wait staff is atrocious, with all main wait staff being the most snotty east indians. They treat you like you don't belong there. My meal was good (but small portions of course). I had beef tenderloin that was perfectly cooked and very melt in the mouth. This must be their specialty. My husband order seafood linguine. He eats everything, so this is really unusual, but he couldn't hardly eat it, it was soooo bad. The seafood was undercooked, and disgusting (by his words). I have never seen him not eat his food. When we complained about it, they did not offer to fix it. The waiter offered dessert. When we declined he came back a few minutes later and haughtily informed us, he would take off my husbands dinner. I had one glass of wine, hubby had 1 beer, and seafood bisque, which also was the worst he's ever had. Most of the stuff on the menu was seafood, so to do it badly was not a good indication. So with only my dinner and the few other things I mentioned the bill still came to $85.00. By the way the cheapest bottle of wine on the menu was $55.00 (only 2 kinds) up to $150. We did want a bottle of wine, but not at that price. And we are talking kinds that are about $25 other places.

I was searching around Toronto for a really nice place to take my fiance for dinner and came across Toula, too bad for us. I did read the reviews before going, but thought maybe it's better than what people are saying, turns out people speak the truth.
The view from the restaurant was excellent and almost made it worth the trip, almost. We did a 3 course meal and right off the beginning it was a slow start. The appetizers (eggplant and toula salad) did come out quickly so quickly you think they would have been hot, but the plate was hotter then the eggplant.
The main course was better (Gnocchi and Veal Chop) overall though it was average and we were not overly impressed. We rounded out the night with dessert (Crème Brulée and Chocolate Parfait) The Crème Brulée and Parfait were quite good and the tea was nice...tetley will never let you down.
Throughout the night the service was good although seems like the waiter is always just hovering around. Again the view and atmosphere were also nice, but can't make up that much for the food. I would suggest trying another fine dining spot before heading to Toula's.

I saw all the bad ratings after I had already booked my Winterlicious and I should have listened. To begin, when I called for the American Express cardholders pre-booking no one answered the phone and I left a message and no one called me back. I then booked it the next day and the woman who took my order was quite rude and made the process slow and confusing.
The food was alright but nothing to write home about. I found it really obnoxious that the salad was not torn and was just in big, awkward leaves with little dressing. The pheasant was quite good but somewhat cold. The main dish of butternut squash ravioli just seems a little played out to me. They have been doing it for five years + in this city - very uncreative. The dessert was alright and nothing great.
The wine list was very expensive and I did not order any. The view was not that great - we just looked out to the sugar factory. The bathrooms and the random hallway/staircase leading to them are in need of renovations.
The waiter was really nice and we tipped him well. Overall it did not feel like a fine dining experience, especially compared to Jump (which was amazing), Canoe, Tundra and many other high quality restaurants in the city. Do not go here - you can get better elsewhere.
Also - the windows had fingerprints and marks all over them which was truly unappealing, especially when the view is supposed to be the hallmark of the restaurant.

I wish I would've read these reviews before making a reservation for winterlicious. I would say this place is mediocre at best. For starters we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, the bread they brought out was stale. When the waiter came to take our order I asked if he wanted all of our selections at once, he scoffed at me and said "well, there are like 400 people we're serving tonight," acting like I was stupid for asking. Our starters arrived, my husband ordered the scallop chowder, the bowl was barely half full and not a scallop in sight, or anything for that matter, mostly broth. I ordered the asparagus which was just so-so. As for the mains, they didn't even ask how my husband wanted his ribeye, it came out quite well done and served along with a very bland, boring vegetable medley. I had the pasta with lobster, the lobster was over cooked and burnt and you could get better pasta at The Olive Garden or Kelsey's. Dessert was good, but nothing to write home about. Overall we were very dissapointed, we expected something pretty good since it was part of winterlicious. We aren't food snobs by any means but for the money you spend here you expect much much more. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The pluses are few: the bocconcini/tomato salad was fresh, delicate and tasty. The butternut squash soup was creamy and nicely seasoned. Beef tenderloin was on the well side of medium-well ordered but lots and tasty. Everything was served at the same time which allowed us to eat together. We weren't hurried so we enjoyed the views.
The minuses: The main server was sporadic - definitely not attentive for the prices. Wine prices reduced our consumption to a few overpriced glasses. Sliced veal was overcooked dry and tasteless and bacon strips in between were actually tough. Proscuito over powered the shrimp which was very firm as double cooked or cooked from frozen. The lamb was fatty. The cornish hen was dry, overcooked. Had to ask for water refills. Vegetables were unimaginative and the same for each plate: one baby carrot, one zucchini slice, a few red pepper slices, a few roast potato chunks. Table ambiance was 'family restaurant'. - Order: Bocconcinci salad, butternut squash soup, proscuito shrimp, veal, lamb, beef tenderloin, cornish hen

The best part of this place is the view.
I thought for a restaurant in the Westin Harbour hotel it would live up to that reputation but it doesnt.
Th appeitizers were good, not great, my mixed greens has a bitter taste to them suggesting they werent washed.
We both ordered the "black angus strip loin". I use quoatations because it was slices of pot roast instead. It tasted like an average homemade roast dinner.
The best part of our meal was dessert - the chocolate dipped pear is tasty.
The service is nothing special either. We had to ask for our bread basket and the servers were a little out of it.
I dont recommend it at all.
good luck elsewhere.

The service I received at Toula is by far the worst service I've ever received at any restaurant. Even McDonald's has better service than Toula. My party and I went there for Summerlicious, was seated on time. However, it took us 20 minutes to just get water (mind you, they did not turn on the air-conditioning when it was almost 30 degrees outside). Then it took us another 10 minutes to get our waiter's attention. When we got his attention, he said that he was going to enter a bunch of orders and will come back to us. BUT! he decides to go take the orders of the table behind us who came in 15 minutes after us. Our entire table looks at him and he has the nerve to say to the other table, "I have to go take their order first. They're either angry or really hungry." He takes our order and SNATCHES the menus away from our hands. Food was mediocre, NOT WORTH THE PRICE. You're better off going to Milestone's, Pickle Barrel or Moxie's.
After we paid for the bill, the waiter counted the money ON OUR TABLE, not on the table over, not on the counter nearby. He had to count the money infront of us, pretty much call us liars.
- Order: goose breast, calamari, black angus beef, ricotta stuffed chicken
