The Family Thai

This was the worst experience ever! This will be my first and last time ordering from The Family Thai (Danforth location). Last night, on Nov 2, 2012 at 6:45pm I ordered the “special meal for 4”. It arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes later at 8:30pm. I told the guy on the phone (Tom) that I had guests and it was important for me to feed them by 8pm. He assured me the food would arrive between 1 hour and 1 hour and 20 minutes. He basically lied to get my business. On top of that the food was cold and mediocre at best.

Save your money and go elsewhere! If you order from this place you will be disappointed and eat 2 hours after you place your order. On top of all this, when I called at 8pm and 8:15 he kept saying “5 more minutes” – but he didn’t even know my address. I suspect that he just tells everyone “5 more minutes” and shuffles them off the phone as quickly as possible.

My guests were starving and all of us were disappointed. It was truly a mistake to give these people business. You’re better off to find good food (and prompt service) from Young Thailand, Bankok Gardens, etc.

Never again!

It's a shame that so many fake reviews get posted on these things...despite that fact, Family Thai is very good in food quality/taste/quantity, is reasonably timely and has excellent service. The atmosphere is one step away from being horrible, and is NOT "Innovative" as other stated. It has THE WORST decor, with hideous loud screechy music. Other than that, it's fabulous!

Excellent takeout Thai/Malaysian, both meat and meatless. Very reasonable prices. Pad Thai is particularly tasty, the best we've had in Danforth/Riverdale. Service is prompt and helpful. Ratings reflect our impressions based on expectations for Thai takeout.
