Spices Cafe

The food here has an amazing "home cooked" quality, unlike other restaurants. The butter chicken is a must, their star dish in my opinion. The waiter was shady looking and seemed very interested in talking with me which got a little annoying but he did bring the food relatively quickly. The patio is also the best I've seen downtown. Spices is a great little cafe for quick and affordable food.

I'm a big fan of Indian food (e.g. Babu in Scarborough - untoppable!). But I found the food here very odd-tasting. Way too much ginger in everything, giving everything an oddly sour taste. Service was very slow and my server spent a lot of time telling me how he decided to start up the restaurant despite a lack of cooking background, etc. I prefer the food to speak for itself. For the cost, I don't think you get very good value here.

good food, simple, not heavy. one of the better indian places in the city in my opinion.

I love this place. I have been there many times and can not say enough about it. If you are looking for simple, fresh healthy indian cuisine, this is the place to go.

Ordered the Meat Thali and water...Still waiting on order! The only plus was the fast service of the waiter!

The food sucked! They used mice for there lamb curry & sparrows for the butter chicken. Also I'm still waiting on the glass of water and my food order. It's like entering the Twlight Zone!
The only plus was that the waiter was awesome with his quick service!

It was truly tasty and so yummy. I could go there every day and not get sick of it. I loved it!

The food is fantastic. All fresh ingredients and lots of care to make authentic dishes.

Staff is super friendly and made the experience delightful.

A truly unique experience here. Not your standard Indian fare. You are spoiled and catered to here with sincere, healthy charm. Order anything on the menu and your palette will leave you craving for more one week later.

The combination of spices used and the way each mouthful is a different surprise shows how these dishes are passionately made. Casual, simple with wonderful, vintage 60's & 70's Indian music.
Hours - open weekdays only from lunch til 7pm.
