Our group of four had a less than ideal experience at Murphy's. It was very disappointing, as the place has such a great location and could likely attract many diners, although not for repeat business, in my opinion. My "Greek" chicken salad had about one tablespoon of feta cheese on it (not an exaggeration), and NO kalamata olives...I mean if I wanted a house salad, I would have ordered that. The salad was too costly for what I got. My friend ordered fish & chips, of which the pub was out of. Okay, fine, that kind of stuff happens. But the worst part was that the waitress seemed put out by every request or question posed to her. She responded with a blank stare and a delayed reaction. Maybe we got this place on a bad day, but I still would never return to this restaurant

Found on the corner of Queen St. E. and Kingston Road in The Beach, this is an above average quality pub. Patio out front, main floor bar, dungeon basement, quiet upstairs, and a rooftop patio as well. The Fish & Chips are really well done, the batter is perfect, not the doughy mess that other lower quality establishments tend to have. The fish is served wrapped in newspaper. Tasty french fries and excellent coleslaw as well. Perfect with a pint of Guinness. Service is good, never had a problem.
- Order: Fish & Chips: Alaskan halibut battered in Kilkenny cream ale, hand cut fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce, Guinness
