Myself and 2 friends arrived at Lobby recieving a fantastic greeting, but from there it went downhill.... one of the servers taking our drink order as we waited for our table to be ready was rude and not friendly at all. We were then seated, and no one approached our table for about 10 minutes, when our waiter did finally come over to our table, he did not introduce himself as our server, did not ask if we wanted wine with dinner, did not bring any bread , and only asked us for our appetizer and dinner choices. He was not polite by any means. We ordered our apps and dinner choices (we only had the Winterlicious menu to choose from - they were not offering their regular menu at all...this was VERY disapointing, and an easy way for them to upsell their customers). The appetizers arrived very quickly(which is great), and our main arrived even quicker (which leads me to believe that nothing was prepard fresh - all was warmed slightly). My Salmon was fine - nothing spectacular, both friends ravioli was not hot - slightly warmed through - they both believed that it was something they could have easily prepard at home thmeselves - again nothing spectacular. All the time, our waiter never asked if the food was good, did not offer to bring any freshly ground pepper to the table, did not offer me another drink when my glass was empty (I had to ask for another). Another waiter came by to clear our plates and asked if we were having dessert as well....he scoffed at us when we told him we had yet to decide and wanted to see the options again - we were not offered tea, coffee, or a cappacino with our desert or after dinner. Our waiter looking after us, immediatly brought the bill, and then didn't return for us to let him know that they had overcharged us an additional person. Finally he returned and we recieved the correct bill, paid and left with absolutly no intentions of returning or reccomending Lobby. The other issue we had was with the washrooms - they were very dark and not clean at all....they had a slight odor to them and the floors were obviously dirty. For such a high-end hot spot.....the washrooms really should be clean and the service should be top notch.
The positive aspecs: the decor-very minimal, trendy and appealing, the booth we sat at was extremely comfortable, the dishes used were attractive and the plating of my salmon was very nice - my veggies were cooked perfectly, as was my salmon. The greeter at the front entrance was an absolute delight.
My friends and I enjoy eating out, trying new places and enjoying the fine dining experience....we have been to many many high end restaurants thoughout the GTA and we were dissapointed with this one - for the hype and reviews it has generated over the last few years, we thought it would be run flawlessly, and we figured the food would be outstanding. We will not be going back.

Lobby has been a hotspot in Toronto for over five years now, every time I come to visit I am sure to have dinner and stay and party after... A group of friends and I, down from LA, recently had dinner and we absolutely loved it. The new chef Adam Campbell, along side an amazing new menu, and an exquisite list of cocktails and wines, is sure to impress any critic ( as I am a hard woman to please). Personable and gorgeous staff, makes me wonder if you have to be a model to work there haha.. If there is one resto-lounge Toronto that has made a name for itself for travelers from LA it is definitely Lobby. Every celebrity I associate with always makes a point of hitting up lobby when they're in town, on their infamous Wednesday night party or any other day of the week, and now with my thoughts on the new menu they will be sure to enjoy a delicious meal first. Yes ladies and gentlemen... Lobby is back.. and it is more pleasant than ever.

Decided to check out lobby for dinner, after hearing they had done a big reno. The new decor is very sleek and sexy. We were happy to see they had reorganized the dining room. We started our meal with cocktails, but when we tried to order a bottle of wine we were told much of the menu was sold out?! We eventually settled on a bottle of lillypilly. Foodwise, i had the jalepeno shrimp to start. Amazing. To follow i had the best seabass i think i have ever eaten. Perfectly executed, fresh and delicious. My husband inquired as to the ingredients of several dishes as he has severe gluten allergies, and the chef was gracious enough to visit our table and spend several minutes discussing the menu with him. Overall, except for a few shortcomings, such as a sparse wine list and spotty service, we were very pleased with the food and the extra mile the chef went to regarding my husbands dietary restrictions, preparing an entree for him that was not on the menu. We will return, and would reccomend to anyone hungry!

we had to wait an hour for our table .. we had had ordered some drinks from the bar.. after our second was finished no one bothered to see if we wanted another - three bartenders standing right in front of us and nothing... the washrooms downstairs smelled like an outhouse. The host and hostess walked passed at least 10 times and not once let us know how long we would have to wait. I finally asked the hostess how much longer and she was all shock and suprise and pointed us to a table in the dining room, charming. The waiter was fine, the food was good, but the overall I would never go there again, and never recommend it to my friends

The food was okay,I expected better. The ambience was fairly romantic although a little too dark to read the menu. The server was efficient and funny and clearly added to our experience. We appreciated his knowledge with the wine list.

Snobby atmosphere. Rude server. Ho hum food. Servings too small for the price. Awful experience.
