Katsu Japanese Restaurant

Horrible delivery "service" (don't even try), even worse in person service. Rude, disinterested and snobby staff from top to bottom. Food quality passable, but I never ordered sashimi, just tempura and rolls. It's a shame that a great location can keep a restaurant alive...

My friend and I used to meet monthly for AYCE Sushi at Katsu, and we always enjoyed our meal and our service. About a year and a half ago we noticed a decline in the quality of the service. Even though we would visit the restaurant during off hours, we were consistently waiting 10 minutes to have a drink order taken. The friendly, welcoming staff seemed to be gone, replaced with bored, indifferent servers. Waiters no longer checked in with us, or asked how everything was...we had to flag people down everytime we wanted anything. Twice we'd invited friends to join us there, and they noticed the poor service too. We finally gave up going, and are currently looking for our new lunch spot. Life's too short to spend money in a place that so clearly is uninterested in our patronage.

I have worked in the restaurant business for a long time and when 3 of 4 people in my group ordered the lunch buffet and i asked to have the dinner buffet fully expecting to pay more for a bigger variety of choice i was appalled that I was asked to sit at another table solo so my guests could not eat the items i ordered.
I understand that they don't want people sharing and believe me I was starving and had no intention of doing so but the mere request of moving to a table alone was disgusting.
Do these people not understand they can increase avg guest cheques by my guests wanting what I had then coming back and ordering it at double the price of what they actually spent.
I food was not fresh and the service was appalling. I will stick to my favorite sushi place elsewhere.

Very little variety of sushi
The sashmi was not fresh. It felt like they used frozen material. The salmon was a light shade of orange. The price for this is expensive for it's lack of choices and frozen material. I don't recommend this place to anyone. My friend ate the beef teriyaki and felt sick at the end of the meal.
Horrible experience.

Great atmosphere, quick and friendly service. The lunch buffet was very reasonably priced at $8.99, dinner is also at $16.99. Sushi were freshly prepared. You can actually see the guy preparing it from where we were sitting. We left there very filled and satisfied! We're most likely going again this weekend!

The food was HORRIBLE! The staffs are all bitchy and have absoloutely no manners at all. They gave us attitudes and dirty looks and the service was really bad too. it took over 20 mins to get our sushi and it wasn't even satisfying at all. After we order some japanese fried rice and it didn't even come at all. the service is soo bad, and plus the place was too hot on a hot DAY!!! they have nice renovations but for crapy food and services with bitchy waiters i will not recommend this place unless u want to be unsatified and get ripped OFF!!

This is another "Chinese" Japanese Restaurant. The food lacks both quality and flavour. Some of the Sushi was almost okay but the cooked food was just awful. Things were typically too sweet as is the case with Chinese owned places of any kind. Unless it's Chinese food of course.

The food lacked any semblance of true Japanese food flavour.

The decor is very nice but I go to a restaurant to eat so I can't give them a good rating for that.

The service was okay for one waitress (which is why they got the 4 and not 1) but the second one was super bitchy.

The most disappointing part was by far the food.

-Sushi was made in a sloppy manner and lacked the proper flavour and consistency. The rice to fish ration was just a joke. I know they're trying to save money but you could have put about 3 pieces of fish on the amount of rice used for each piece of sushi.
- Tempura was a joke. The shrimp looked like it was cut up for sushi and the leftover was put in the Tempura. I'd say the ratio was about 90% batter and 10% shrimp. And the batter was greasy as opposed to light the way it should be. The sauce was not at all the right flavour.
- Anything else deep fried was obviously cooked in really old oil.

Overall this is a sad version of Japanese food. There is very little Japanese about the flavour and they try to stuff you full of rice and batter.

I'm not going back to this place at all. It's cheap but it's not worth it unless you have no standards and just want to pig out. (which you could just do at some other buffets with better food.)

Their all you can eat deal is fantastic for sushi and non-sushi lovers alike. Bento boxes are generously portioned, salmon and beef are better choices, chicken is a not-so-great dark meat. Recent renovations have created a charming atmosphere and staff is friendly and quick to help. Delivery is also fast and excellent.
