Went for the $10.99 lunch buffet today. Lots of choices -- 4 veggie dishes and 6 meat dishes (shrimp, chicken, beef and lamb). The first buffet I've seen that has shrimp curry with green beans and beef vindaloo.
Compared to Little India right next door (literally), Palace uses more spice, so the dishes have more zing and hotness. And I loved every bite.
Very nice ambiance and all the food seemed to be high quality, so I would definitely recommend India Palace.

Well, INDIA PALACE may not be as nicely decorated and pretty (though still satisfactory) as its three nearby Queen St neighbours, but the food it dishes out is noticeably a notch or 2 above those others. The tandoori chicken, my favorite, is way above average in moistness and flavor, but still not as good as --'s outstanding tandoori chicken. The shrimp-greenbeen curry really rocks! It is spicy and loaded with shrimps. INDIA PALACE is the only indian restaurant in town that serves shrimp at the buffet table! The potato AND chickpea/greenpea curries are also spicy and delicious. The butter chicken has large tender chicken pieces and the sauce is sweet and extremely smooth. This is the best butter chicken I have ever tasted anywhere!!! There was also several other vegetable and meat/curry dishes available at the buffet table which were quite good, including pakoras/samosas. The dessert offerings were so-so, consisting of fresh fruits like watermelon and pineapple, ice cream, custard and rice pudding, gulab jamon (donutball) all of which were of average norm in taste. Overall, the food offered at INDIA PALACE's buffet table is tastier than any of its competitors' food. It is seasoned and spiced just right where needed and this is quite obvious once you taste the dishes. My tastebuds were VERY IMPRESSED AND SATISFIED! Also, the service was very friendly and welcoming. The price for the buffet is now $10.95, which is up slightly from $8.95 just last year. INDIA PALACE is one of 2 best indian restaurants on Queen Street. Visit again? YES YES YES!!!
