  • came in after a show tried to order martinis, man at the bar and female bartender were way to busy to even acknowledge us, we had to actually call for them to order drinks, that took a while and when we needed another it was the same thing, being in the restaurant business for 25 years you should at least acknowledge your paying customers if you are too busy to serve them right away like...' Hey Lucy, I'll be right with you" that gives you an extra 5 minutes for your tip!!!!

  • This place is amazing, the sweet potato fries that we ordered as an appetizer were better than some restaurants main courses. We of course then had some of there wood oven pizza which was some of the best pizza I've ever had.

We enjoyed all of this on there rooftop patio while having a few beers, which they had a great selection of.

  • I went with 4 of my girlfriends for martini night last night and we had an amazing experience...the service was great, she was very friendly and outgoing, we sat upstairs and i couldn't believe how different it looked. The new owners have done a great job.

They have a really great patio on the second level that we will visit next Wednesday for sure! Totally worth checking out the new look. Make sure to try the calzones, best i've ever had!

  • Hey Lucy's is under new management and they have really stepped up the service. I haven't been there in almost a year... They still have the same 3.99 martinis on Wednesday night with the same selection but the service is 100% better.
They have completely renovated the whole top floor of the bar! it looks amazing! perfect place to book a private party.
I was VERY impressed with the turn around in food quality as well as the over all feel and new look.
HIghly recommend giving Hey Lucy another shot! my group was very impressed, we will be back.

  • The owner, sitting at the table next to us at the patio alone having a few drinks told me and my friend(we're 16) that it was a great night to get drunk. Sort of made us feel uncomfortable but he didn't bother us. Overall, the restaurant was very nice, service was quick, waitress/hostess were friendly and the food was great.

  • Order: Ceaser salad and pasta.

  • Sat, Oct 18th, around 7pm
The place was not quite full. Seated quickly which was great.
I personally liked the decor. Atmosphere was casual, a little alternative for a restaurant. Utensils, glasses, plates we were served with were spotless. Didn't use the washroom so I can't comment on that. Open concept kitchen - if you're sitting near the back you can see the woodfire stove and all of the action. Those are the highlights.

Waitress was friendly initially but quickly seemed to lose interest. Was a bit out of it, maybe, or just 'ditzy'. I asked was what the special was, she acted clueless and ran off to find out if there was one. 10 minutes later she came back to let us know that there wasn't one.
Friends ordered pop, I ordered water to drink. I got my water right away, she went back for pop & with the 2 drinks in her hand walked the opposite direction of where we were sitting. Finally 'found' us. We considered leaving as the outlook wasn't promising but stayed.
Placed our orders-she didn't write them down but verbally confirmed them several times and passed on to the kitchen. Garlic bread appetizer took apr. 15 mins, but we had to remind her about it. Had been ready for about 5 minutes, she'd forgotten to deliver it then she just set it down and walked away without saying anything. Throughout the night she seemed to do a lot of walking back and forth through the place without checking in.
Took another 10-15 for our entrees, they arrived at different times. A male waiter/busboy brought the first entree (bolognese) along with another entree that wasn't for our table at all. He was very friendly though and had a big smile & good attitude but his English wasn't perfect so a few questions we asked about our meals sort of went unanswered. Other 2 entrees arrived about 5 minutes after. I thought the food was tasty and the pasta dishes were nicely portioned, but the grilled calamari was TINY! Looked completely out of place with the other dinners. The fried calamari appetizer had more bulk to it (I saw it on another customer's table). My male friend was very disappointed.
We mentioned this to the waitress who finally came over as we were done eating, she brought this to the attention of a man who I assume was the manager. He came to our table and informed us that he would take the dish off the bill and as well offered my friend a choice of salad. He took a greek salad which was very generously portioned and he really enjoyed. If the grilled calamari entree came with a choice of salad such as this, it would have more value for the money and would be more appropriate to call a meal. A small piece of garlic bread with the pasta dishes would be nicer too.

We wrote our comments on the back of the receipt. I hope that they took them seriously and will use them to better the restaurant.
My friends both agreed that they wouldn't return to Hey Lucy.
I might go back because I appreciated the atmosphere, and some of the service.

  • Order: Garlic bread with cheese, Rigatoni bolognese, Angry Italian pasta dish, Grilled calamari 'dinner', 2 pops

  • See my user name... DON'T EVEN GO THERE. The food wasn't great, the decor/cleanliness of this place was grotesque and the service??? Despicable!!! There are plenty of nice little places on this strip that one could visit for a meal. STAY AWAY from "Hey Lucy". The place should be shut down. Hopefully its customers/potential customers will stay away and the place will be forced to shut down, because after the "Happy Seven" restaurant situation, the Toronto Dept. of Health won't do anything. I would love to see those whom are employed at "Hey Lucy" be forced to find another job and see them try to get away with treating the public the way they do at this place! Good luck! Any reputable food establishment would NEVER allow it.

  • my friends and i went to this place just before a concert, when we first got there, the waitress was in fact pleasant. we sat upstairs not on the patio but inside, and it was disgusting, tables sticky, the place looked like it had been abanded, the lights and chandeliers had more cobwebs that i have seen ever in one place. when we all placed our order all was still fine, i order the cheese raviolli as per the waitress said was one of their best meals, my friend ordered something else and i mentioned it sounded good, as the waitress said itwas good also. she then went downstairs and came back to tell me they were out of the pasta- its a pasta place and out?? ok understandable, but then she said she took it into her own hands and ordered me the same as my friend because i said it sounded good. choosing my meal for me??? was she paying for it??? but i bit my tongue and didn't say anything to her but thank you. once our orders came another friend ordered the club sandwich, the bread on it, not sure what it was, it was about 4 inches think on the top and it looked like a waffle, when she tried it said it tasted like wood, she complained that it tasted rotten and was horrible, the waitress did ask if she coud get her anything else, and of course being turned off and us running out of time to get to our concert she said no. she then wasn't pleased to have to seperate our bills. and told my one friend who returned her whole plate that she took 50% off her bill, she asked why and she said rudely " I ASKED YOU IF THERE WAS ANYTHING YOU WANTED AND YOU SAID NO, I DID THIS TO BE NICE IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO A MANAGER ABOUT IT GO AHEAD" the manager never showed up, but now the bills all had to be redone because she voided out the other 50%. i had to wait forever for mine because she put it in as the ravioli and hadn't changed it. THEN she didn't have change for the one that got her meal voided, - she still had to pay for her pop, which yes is ok. so because she didn't have any change me and another girl took 2 dollars (from other girls bill hers was 22 ) for our change. as service was horrible and we were not leaving almost 3 dollars each. went outside to wait - as change was still being looked for, i went back in and was told "HUGE PROBLEM HERE- i asked what, she said theres only 20s here, and this girls bill was 22, and i said yes thats because we took the change for us, and i was told that the prices didn't include gratuity, and its pretty SHITTY of us not to leave a tip- which we still did. and didn't deserve, SHE HELD THE OTHER GIRL IN THERE AND WOULDN'T LET HER LEAVE UNTIL SHE GOT HER MONEY / TIP... who complains about a tip??? i wanted to tell her to give me everybodies change at that point, but i handed her the 2 dollars back. which i shouldn't have.. anyway horrible experience... will never go again.
