  • Order: Sweet and sour soup, kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice

  • My girlfriend and I drive downtown from North Etobicoke just for this restaurant. And we've been all over the GTA to various chinese restaurants. From Mississauga to Scarborough to Vaughn, this is the best in the GTA. Service is reasonable, food is EXCELLENT authentic chinese cuisine. I highly recommend the General Tso Chicken, Crispy Fried Chicken, Deep Fried Calimari, Hot & Sour Soup, Plain Fried Rice, Spicy Dried Beef, and Wonton's in Peanut Sauce. Much MUCH tastier than New Ho King next door. Not as nice inside, but better food at better prices.

  • Order: Probably the whole menu by now...

  • My first time here, I came in and ordered take-out. Service was okay, adequate. Excellent food for the price, very generous portions. Sesame beef is crunchy and dry, not served in a pool of syrup like too many places. Diced chicken is spicy with a hint of sweetness, very well done. Deep-fried squid excellent, but needed some kind of dipping sauces and went better with the home-made chili-garlic mayo I made.

The decor is bland, typical Chinese utilitarian styling of many Chinese restaurants (both in Toronto and in China itself). Not dirty like some other comments indicate. I recommend ignoring comments vilifying the place, they are without merit and sound like the complaints of spoiled students. I highly recommend the place if you want good food on a budget.

  • Order: Sesame Beef, Deep-fried Squid with salt and pepper, diced chicken with cashews

  • I'm a pretty laid back, understanding and forgiving individual - I have lived long enough to accept that things will go wrong. That said a Chinese dinner should never ever EVER be this bad, nor should service be this horrendously offensive.

I had food delivered and it came spilled all over itself as if it had been recovered from the bottom of a garbage bag somewhere in Chinatown - picture the flies and maggots flies flourishing in one of Spadina's back allies. My egg rolls and the paper bag they come in were soaked in the liquids from the beef and broccoli. My chicken balls were drenched in Wonton Soup - I mean WTF, Wonton Chicken Ball Soup? Have you ever heard of it? Moreover, there was hardly any Wonton.

I felt I had no other choice so I called the restaurant to complain - complaining is always a last resort as far as I am concern I speak with my dollar. The people at Lucky Dragon refused to do anything about my problem, so I am done with them and I hope I dissuade a couple readers to not order from them. At the end of the day I went to Micky D's, got a couple Mcsomething combos and wrote this review.

There are dozens of decent Chinese restaurants in Toronto - but this is not one of them, LOL.

  • Order: Dinner for two.

  • I've lived in Chinatown my entire life. I am half Cantonese, and raised Cantonese. My father cooks Cantonese and we are very picky on Chinese food and what we consider "real" chinese food.

New Ho King is right beside this restaurant, and yes it is cleaner but they cannot cook anywhere NEAR as excellent as this place.

As the first review stated, You can't beat lucky dragon other than Lee Garden, but Even I can say that Lee Garden isn't what it use to be, thus I would prefer Lucky Dragon for Authentic old skewl REAL Chinese food.

The lemon chicken is the best lemon chicken you'll ever have, and it's in large quantity. Most of their dishes are Large Quantity and very reasonable in price.

    HOWEVER....

The kitchen isn't very clean. And the restaurant in general isn't very clean which is prolly why New Ho King gets most of the business.

I will sacrifice the decor for the taste but Sometimes the cut isn't good. sometimes you'll get a bone here and there or some grits, and if you order for take out, double check what you're eating (small fly might get in there).

If they cleaned up just a little bit, they would be the best restaurant in the city.

And the one waitress guy that can speak english is very nice, and is an excellent server.

the late night chef cooks better than the day time one.

  • Order: General Tso Chicken, Beef Chow Mein (both cantonese and Schezuan style), Lemon Chicken, Chicken w/BlackBean Sauce on Rice Noodle, and many more.

  • I feel that this is one of these most delicious resturaunts in the toronto area. I have visited this establishment on numerous occasions and have always had a flavourful dining experience. The cook has obviously been raised with the skills to deliver a dish that is not only bursting with flavour but also served like a home cooked meal. I reccomend anyone who has a taste for great food take a trip to Lucky Dragon.

  • Order: A flavouful steamed green tea in an iron kettle. Sweet and Sour chicken with fresh pineapple chunks drenched in sauce. With freshly steamed rice, and a hearty helping of the most mouthwatering hot and sour soup.

  • Seriously I live in Toronto and this is the best chinese food in the city (other than Lee Gardens on Spadina), plus they deliver really late into the night (like, 3 a.m. !)
    Also not super expensive.

  • Order: I go here all of the time, and order as well These are the best dishes, tried and true (I have tried lots of stuff on the menu): 1. Sesame Beef Sweet and Tangy Deep Fried Shredded Beef 2. General Tso Shrimp Breaded and Deep Fried Shrimp in General Tso sauce (Sweet and Spicy Flavours) 3. Chicken with Peanut & Hot Sauce Diced Chicken with celery and carrot in the best Peanut Sauce ever 4. Pork Chop Peking Style Sliced Pork in Peking Sauce (Soy, Ginger, Garlic Flavours)
