  • Three servings of stone cold, greasy deep-fried shrimp-in-dough later, we asked for the cheque and left. If we're lucky, we won't get food poisoning.

Cheap disposable plastic table cloth on what seemed like laminated plywood. Server spoke less than the bare minimum of English and was quite pushy. When she found out that my two guests were unfamiliar with dim sum, she promptly placed down the three aforementioned dishes. I assumed that she was choosing the "safe" ones for the uninitiated. It seems like she was just getting rid of the stale ones on the cart. If it were fresh and not dripping oil, it may have been tasty. My guests immediately wanted to leave. Three bites cost us $15.

  • Order: Shrimp ball, shrimp/chive dumpling, deep fried shrimp purse.

  • We went for dim sum. We were seated immediately and found the service to be excellent, with a continuous procession of carts. The "cart ladies" were very good about trying to explain in English what everything was, or opening the steamers to show us. Once we told them we had enough, they never bothered us again. We wanted cold drinks and found someone to efficiently and quickly take care of our order. On the way out, we could barely get down the stairs, so many people were coming in!
One thing that surprised me was that they charged extra for the tea that automatically gets placed on your table without you ordering it... is this a new standard? Not sure, but it was a really nice jasmine tea, so no problem. I would definitely go back!

  • At roughly about $15 per person this great little gem is tucked away on the second level on Dundas st. near Huron st.
We've had Dim sum Regularly at Rol San for years, on a tip from a friend we decided to try Forestview, we walked in and were instantly seated. It was a nice surprise to see the Dim sum served the old way with many carts loaded with delicious plates and bamboo steamer baskets circling the tables constantly, the food was fresh and to my surprise better in some cases than good old Rol San, The beauty of getting Dim Sum served this way is that you will likely end up trying something(s) you'd never try if you were just looking at a description of the food on a menu, of course for me there were a few times where there was a bit of a language barrier with some of the servers, for example we asked if there was pork in these rolls we were interested in, the sever says "yes" then as soon as we bite into it, we realize its veggie, not a horrific moment by any means but an example of what you may run into. So if you've had Dim sum a few times then this place wil be great for you, if you are new to Dim Sum then you may want to try some place else until you are familiar with the dishes, The bottom line here is the food is excellent and fresh! the service is quick, the place is clean and the prices are very reasonable. I will come back again and again to this place!! We Loved it!

  • Order: Dim Sum - we had about 8-9 different dishes between 3 people -The house tea wa quite good too!
