  • A nice exterior belies a ragged and outdated interior. Tables and booths are old, old, old - like they were salvaged from another century. Washroom was cramped, dirty, and smelled. Four of the six plates at our booth were dirty, but we did get two for ourselves so didn't make an issue of it. Adding to the pandemonium were the ugly black & white caricatures mounted along the walls, hovering over you while you dined. Green panels above front windows are covered with patches of scum and need to be powerwashed clean.

Wings were ordered. Just to clarify - they count 6 wings as a pound - so if you are down for paying $11 for 6 wings - this is a restaurant for you. Dropping $21 on 12 wings (2 pound order) is the most prohibitively expensive amount I've spent on wings since going to that tourist trap Duff's Famous - but this is a just South of Rosedale - so like I said - if you are down with overpaying for the inferior fatty meat portion of a chicken, than by all means give it a shot (I did).

    Dragon's Breath 4.5/5
    - Very good wings, tasty texture and sauce. Not as spicy as advertised, but spicy enough. They were excellent, but not quite at Duff's level.

    Cuban Sun 3.5/5
    - Dry rub lacked spark, too much fatty skin was left on the wing itself. Bad texture because of the skin, but was cooked through well enough.

Also, the wings came with blue cheese salad dressing instead of real blue cheese dip - yuck!

Server looked more like a bartender, but did an excellent job. He was friendly and attentive.

  • Best wings in Toronto, hands down! Make sure to try the Dragon's Breath, they are fantastic. If you are more on the tame side, try the Key West BBQ and a host of other mild varieties.

  • Order: 1 Lb of Dragon's Breath Wings and a Coke.

  • Our experience started at peak time on a Thursday night where we were told the wait would be 45 minutes. After only 20 minutes, the server showed us to our table, where 2 walk ins had already seated themselves. The server promptly explained that there was a waiting list and we were sat at our table on the patio.
We ordered 3 lbs of wings to share, as Thursday is half price pounds ($5.00). We chose to try Smokin' Gun, Viva Italia and had the server recommend a third flavor, Cuban Sun. The two fried varieties were cooked to perfection and both sauces were good but not great as they were under seasoned. The Cuban Sun wings were baked and were among the best wings that I have ever had. The house blend of spices and hint of lime made these wings better with each bite.
The bustling Yonge Street crowd provided us with good conversation as we enjoyed our modern pub fare and pints. The Crown and Dragon is inviting and serves among the best wings in the city, we will definitely be back.

The wrecking crew didn't want to have any of that yucky food so we got bagels with cream cheese instead and were merry. So yummy.

  • hands down the best wings in the city! long before they had the award to prove it, i've been scarfing down pounds of wings here regularly.

if wings aren't your thing ... the menu is full of pub classics ... many with their own twist (for the better ... Vince has some awesome creations back there!)

but if you are a wing fan ... this place is your heaven! the wing list goes forever and i have yet to find a flavour that i don't like. being a fan of heat though ... dragons breath and holy habanero are my personal favourites.

everything from the friendly-neighborhood-pub-feel, to the friendly staff and great food ... the crown and dragon won't disappoint, and with three days a week with half price wings - you simply can't go wrong!

  • Order: yam fries (awesome), several pounds of wings (each a different flavour), jugs of beer!

  • the half price wings are a great value. however i wouldnt consider these to be the best wings i have ever had. sure their better than st louis because they offer more flavours. wouldnt pay full price for the wings though. its a great place to go especially if your in the area. but its pretty much like wing joints like st louis and all stars. nothing too special.

However, I wouldn't pay full price for the wings though. It's a great place to go especially if you're in the area, but it's pretty much similar to wing joints like St Louis and All Stars. This restaurant is not anything too special.

1ST PLACE MOST AUTHENTIC! DRAGON WINGS
Judged by NFL Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas

Crown & Dragon, 890 Yonge St.
Thomas and the boys used to meet up for wings twice a week after practice, so rest assured he knows his mild from his medium. He loves Crown & Dragon’s “smokin’ gun” wings even though the flavour eludes him. “I don’t know what it is, but I like it,” he says with a big grin. So how does it compare to the wings back home? “I think it would do good,” he says. “A lot of people like their wings like that.”

  • DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILLS!!
i love the wings here, they no doubt are one of the best around BUTTTTTTT there's been this issue that really puts me offf big time....there is this server whose been working there for awhile now and she's "CONSTANTLY" over charges the bill...the funny thing is we at first thought it was a genuine mistake but after that she has done it everytime we have gone there! and everytime we brought it up with her , even before we could say anything she knew what the mistake was SO basically shes either trying to see if at all customers could point out the mistake incase not i guess good for her cause for sure shes pocketing the money ! and the only reason we havent complained is cause one of our friends is a regular there and said nothing could be done about it cause chances are their bussiness has picked up so much they wont give a damn about us!!

  • Two friends and I went here after reading about the different kinds of wings they serve, and how wings are half price on Thursday.

The decor is mediocre but not ugly, like an average sports bar without much privacy beyond a few booths along the perimeter. Our table was dirty but the server cleaned it quickly.

The wings here are big and meaty, and the breaded ones are satisfyingly crunchy. We loved the smoky sweetness of the key west and the novelty of the tandoori wings' texture (they really do taste like like tandoori chicken). We didn't think korean wings tasted like much. The "cold sweats" were very disappointing because they didn't have enough sauce and the sauce wasn't detectably spicy. The holy habanero were more satisfying for a hot-sauce fix. They came with generous coatings of a thick, pungent sauce that tasted like habaneros and packed enough heat to get my nose running.

We found the bar tolerable and the half-price a great deal for how good the wings were. For really hot wings you're better off going to Duff's, but for quality of meat and variety of flavour I was impressed.

  • Order: Wings (tandoori, korean, key west, cold sweats, habanero)
