  • THE ONLY REASON WHY I WENT TO THIS RESTURANT IS BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SAME AS THE MISSISSAUGA AND BRAMPTON LOCATION BUT IT WAS NOT AND THERE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL THEY NEED TO CHANGE THERE NAME AND STOP FOOLING THE PEOPLE, THAT THEY ARE THE SAME PLACE AND COOK AS THE MISSISSAUGA AND BRAMPTON RESTURANT WHICH THEY ARE NOT

  • I went to this place accompanying a friend of mine who samples different foods. The food was not as hot or as spicy (I had chicken jerk) as I thought thank goodness. HOWEVER, they tried to rip me off. The price on the bill was charged $2 higher than what the menu stated. They claimed their prices have changed in their cash but the menus were printed long before! This is unacceptable. I am too clever for this old trick but I suggest patrons compare and double check the bill

  • Order: jerk chicken

  • I heard actually that the Danforth location is separate from the Mississauga and Brampton locations.
I recently went to the Brampton location this past weekend and they had a great event going on. The food was the best west indian/chinese food I've ever eaten.
We ordered the special chicken fried rice, peppered chicken wings and my friends got the goat and chicken rotis, and we got BBQ duck for the table along with the peppered shrimp. They even have peppered tofu which was also great.
The drinks were good, great prices.
The event goes on every saturday, the entertainment was enjoyable

  • Apparently they used to have a location on Danforth which is no longer open. The Mississauga location is in an unprepossessing industrial area near the airport. The atmosphere is more like a bar than a restaurant, and it was not very crowded when we were there on a Saturday evening. The empty dance floor made the place seem a bit cavernous. But the food was great, and the service friendly and welcoming. The server was happy to describe some of the dishes and make recommendations. The menu selections include many familiar Caribbean dishes like rotis, jerk chicken, rice and peas, etc., along with a number of Chinese dishes. Everything is prepared in a Guyanese style, a bit different from Jamaican or more familiar styles of Chinese food. My least favorite dish was the low mein, which was quite adequate but a bit heavy on the MSG, but I loved the roti, the soup which was a new taste experience for me, and the fried fish appetizer. Overall, a good introduction to Guyanese food which made us want to come back for more.

  • Order: Fried fish, west Indian soup, chicken roti, low mein

  • Not the first time we have eaten at the restaurant. The food, and owner Sammy are Guyanese. Service is always friendly and personal. Excellent variety, tremendous value. I am taking two former colleagues there for lunch on Thursday - They are both Guyanese. A great addition to the Danforth in what is known as "Greektown".

  • Order: Jerk Fish and Vegetarian Roti (Pumpkin and Spinach). Carib Beer and Ginger Beer.
