  • The reviews here strike me as the pro-Taps regulars vs the I-don't-get-its. Hey - all you really need to know is that this is a reliable spot - great goopy/crispy chicken wings, fresh from the oven pizzas and really great staff. A wonderful neighbourhood joint stripped of pretence.

  • Order: wings, beer, that's all you need...

  • I have been here several times. Usually I order the pizza. They have a great variety of pizzas. Their pizzas are great tasting. This trip I ordered chicken wings and fries. Great tasting chicken wings and their fries have a sauce you can order (extra cost) on the side. Loved the sauce. Sure beats dipping your fries into ketchup. Also, their imported beers are cheap compared to other bars. I'll keep coming back to this place.

  • As a weekend lunch regular with my three small daughters---All I can say is that of all the restaurants along the Danforth, none is more kid friendly than this place. With pool tables, prompt drink service, and genuine pleasant servers, cooks and bar-tending staff this spot has become one of our favorite spots.

Also, for time away from kids, the Taps has become my favorite reading spot. Again, the cheery staff is very attentive and seem to know exactly when my drink needs refreshing. For theose extrememly rare times when the beer may be just not perfect, they are quick to replace with no questions asked.

The food is good; better than most pub-grub. But go mostly for the pleasant staff.

  • At the tender age of 20 I had a blast at Taps. Used to go all the time, had a favorite bartender (J), the whole nine. St Patty's night 06' was crazy.
Slowly started to get to involved with the place and eventually got creeped out of there. I suggest that you only go enjoy the moderately prices drink and the over priced pool. If you don't like to hang around young thug types, avoid this place at all costs. There is no such thing as a "sophisticated crowd" here. Even the MIDDLE AGED fellows who reside in this spot are immature, perverted goofballs.

  • We as a band come here a LOT. Actually, we've been chowing down at this place for the last 3-4 years. The staff is great - very friendly - and we all will miss Inger very much (she's in the US now); Marla is our other favourite, tied for first. Completely agree with a previous poster - this is not a breakfast joint, and thusly you will typically not find a young, employed crowd at a bar during the day. They will serve you happily though, and if you are there on a busy night, a freshly cooked meal is your reward. The beer has never tasted weird here (unlike at the Madison), the pool tables are always providing tons of entertainment.

My only beefs would be the prices going up steadily (although not outlandish), the new jukebox that has replaced all my favourites (Oasis, AC/DC, Jamiroquai, Santana - full albums) with a computerized Top 40 contraption, and the fact that they don't always have the spinach-white cheddar dip appetizer available when I want it. That's the worst I could come up with, so it ain't half bad!

Check it out - you will have a great time on any night of the week. Weekends they have a live band too. What more do you want?

  • Order: Stella/Rickard's Red usually, they also have a great San Pellegrino Aranciata and Strongbow! Nachos are the usual, Arrabiata pizza, potato skins, mm.

  • I loved this place. Very comfortable atmosphere, and great music. I've been there before for some pints, but never tried their food. The pizza is the BEST! Better than any of those Italian restaurants on College. And Claire made the experience much more enjoyable. Sit in her section, very easy on the eyes, and she'll keeps you on your toes.

  • Order: Good Fella Pizza, and a few pints of Stella
