Alice Fazooli's (Adelaide)

Over a week in advance we booked a party of 35 people, SPECIFICALLY saying we will only buy 15 cocktail platters and NO alcohol in advance on a written and signed contract they made me fill out. They pretended they thought I was pre-buying 2 drinks per person, then tried to hand me an $800 bill for 35 platters at the end of the night. When I asked for the manager, they couldn't even be bothered to come talk to me. After complaining, they fixed the bill to only $300 for 15 platters. Apparently restaurants do this sometimes to try to pull a fast one on you and make more money. I am appalled and will never go back there again.

I had dinner at Alice Fazooli's last night and was very impressed with the food, especially since I have had bad luck with Italian chains. We initially decided to go there because it was a warm evening and we had heard that the patio was very nice, which it was. They have a decent wine selection and I was happy to get a nice bottle of pinot grigio for only $25. The pizza was definitely the highlight - crisp crust, yummy gorgonzola, pears and just a touch of honey. Delicious. The salad was also good, although it did not come with spiced pecans as advertised. The chocolate gelato was one of the best I've had in Toronto - very creamy with an intense chocolate flavour. Service was friendly and attentive.

We were looking for a patio with ambience and Alice Fazooli's worked on that level. (Although it would have been nicer had they turned on the mini lights hidden in the trellis.)The food was more of a miss than a hit. The main course arrived well after the appetizer and likely had sat on a counter for a while because much of it was lukewarm at best. The portions were small for the price. The steak sandwich was tasty, but I've had better. The waiter talked my husband into a pricier fish dish (the halibut), which arrived cold and bland. Although scarce, the veggies were tasty. The ravioli with tomato sauce on the appetizer menu was rather nasty---fried, stuffed with a chewy cheese (mozzarella?) and dusted with a spicy coating we weren't expecting. The portabello stuffed ravioli was better, but bland. The pizza was passable--I've had much better. The beer and the wine were fine--not much to mess up there. But the Dolce Diva cocktail was disappointing-- we couldn't taste even a hint of the cranberry, orange or lime juice that were supposed to be in it. Our waiter was friendly, but disorganized and stressed.

We had our Christmas lunch here. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Service was very attentive. Food was great.

service was good but a little bit too much--different people kept coming by & asking if everything was ok, when we just wanted to enjoy a quiet meal.
the 4 different flavoured maritinis were cute & it was nice to try different flavours for the price of 1. the portions were smaller than expected & the chicken was just average. the pasta on the side was great though, the sauce & the pasta was cooked perfectly. nice & roomy inside with lots of booths.

shots are $7, definitely not worth it. i ordered bruschetta and the bread was dry and hard, i didnt enjoy it at all. the drinks are not worth the price at all. wont go back because of that. the service is alright. everyone had their own bill going by their names and the waitress still messed up everyones order at the end of the night.

i tried the mussel linguini it was not as good as the one i had at the richmond hill location at east beaver creek ... the mussels where so much better then the downtown location

The food was excellent, the service was good and i like the drinks the best.
