$ 36.00 4 course dinner menu is fantastic. The food is excellent and service is good. Loved the lamb , steak and kulfi. Most of us had tried lamb as it was recommended by the server.
It was the most tender lamb shank we have ever tried. Pistachio kulfi ( Indian Ice Cream ) is just amazing. Highlight of the evening was virgin drinks. Blue berry martini.
Strongly recommend this place if you are looking for something different.

This restaurant purports to be a fusion of indian and mediterannean dishes, but its really not. There isnt much in the way of indian flavours. Fairly overpriced as well. Much better places to go to in the city.

We had our anniversary dinner at 5th Element last week with friends. We had looked around carefully at other options. Overall we were very pleased that we went to 5th Element. We had a fabulous meal and could not fault the service. The owner was around making sure that all guests had a very good dinner experience. Although the restaurant was almost full it was a pleasure to see that it was NOT noisy as most restaurants are today. We certainly will return to 5th element when we are looking for a special occasion venue.

I came across this place accidentally last Monday. As many nice palces in Toronto are closed on monday, we had difficult time in finding out a nice spot for our monday dinner. I found 5th Element in Toronto.com and we went there at 6:00 pm and spent our whole evening there.
It was great great experience, right from ambience, food and service. We have decided to sit on patio as it is on bay street but away from the street beside a small water body with a few trees.
Food is a great blend of indian and international spices.
This is one of my nicest experiences in a restaurant. Look forward to go there soon - Order: Palm seed salad, Lamb shank, Warm chocolate souffle
- best fusion food ( Indian and Italian )

We were recommended by our coworkers and a few other friends who are regulars at 5th element restaurant. Been to 5th element recently for my birthday party with my friends and booked their private room. We were received and seated by the owner of the establishment whic was nice. Our serve jamie was freindly and knowledgeable. In fact as this was our first time we have gone almost with his suggestions. Basically we have almost tried all of their appetizers in our group as their menu is small with unique dishes. Gratinated veggie samosa , palm seed salad, fresh mozarella salad and salmom wrapped scallops were top appetizers in our group. Lamb Shank which i have tried was so tender and tasty the meat fell of the bone just by the touch. Chicken with butter chicken sauce and striploin steak were the other best entrees in our group. Out of 5 desserts our group has tried we all felt pistachio kulfi is the best and on par with the appetizer and entree standards.
We were glad to see they have some wonderful mocktails which gave some of us an option to drink other than just regular coke or orange juice. Ginger mint cooler, pomrose, orange ice tea all these 3 drinks we very different from one another yet refreshing.
Overall our experience is just great and we are going there this weekend again with a smaller group of 6.

Service:
Horrible. We had a party of 12, reserved for 9 pm. We showed up there at 9:05 pm, were greeted rather coldly and were seated at around 9:50. The servers moved VERY slowly and I mean very, it took 5 servers about 10 minutes to move two tables together and place plates and cutlery, which by the way was of a cheapest kind, with some scratches. Made in China. Dollar store quality. The table cloth was upside down.
We got food around 10:55 pm. The waiter’s speed was the most frustrating, I have never seem people moving around so slowly and taking unnecessary time to crouch down beside each person, etc. And above all, the feeling of us being unwelcome there was quite overwhelming.
Besides making us wait for almost an hour, we were only given one go at ordering, because kitchen was closing.
The wine we chose from the list, was not in stock, and it took around 15 minutes to find that out.
Food:
The food portions were the smallest I have ever seen: a $6 dollar soup was ok, not to die for, and oversalted. The bowl size was slightly smaller than a bowl in which crème Brule usually comes in, and contained about 6 table spoons. It came with two crutons about inch in diameter. I guess it was some sort of joke.
I have ordered a roasted tomato salad, which made me sick. For 9$ I got a big plate that included 4 small pieced of roasted tomatoes and a handful (small) of greens with very oily dressing. Perhaps I was just too pissed already, but I was nauseous after eating it. My husband had mussels and shrimps for $11: a huge plate had 2 (two) medium sise shrimps and 1 (one) mussel cut in half. There were fiew greens in the middle and a bit of sauce.
VQA 2006 Riesling was priced at 35 dollars. Given that in the store it is probably around 10, this is an overkill (add the alcohol tax, etc).
Overall: would not ever visit, very surprised hey are still in business. - Order: soup, tomato salad, mussels and shrimps, wine

This was a different experience from our usual dinners. Nevertheless, it was great! My favorite was the bay scallops wrapped with smoked salmon - grilled and served with tomato & onion relish! This appetizer was huge and tasted delicious! If you go there be sure to see if they have this available. However, the Sauté shrimp with mango salsa was not worth it! This consisted of 3 very dried shrimps with a bit of lettuce in the center! My other friend ordered the Melon Salsa with Midori Dressing which was very different. This fruit salad was definitely an appetizer with spiced/seasoned fruits which tasted great.
The mignon steak was done perfectly. However, I was more interested in other people's Lamb Shank! The portions were huge! It really did taste like a mix between different cultures. Some loved it and everyone that tried it from our group..loved it!
For us 25$ before tax and tips, this place was worth it!

Was there at 5 pm Saturday reservation, pretty empty at that time, nice environment. No surprise, LOTS of Asians in the restaurant (I guess we Chinese go where deals are)
Overall I was very satisfied, can't beat the price of $15/person (ie. $5 per course). I did like entrees and desserts more than the appetizers though
- Order: Fish Bombay (nah, it's like McFish Nugget) Scallops (better) Grilled bengali Salmon (loved it) Lamb Shank (okay...) Creme Brule (loved it) Pineapple Halwa (loved it)
