  • Food will leave you full and wishing you could eat the last morsel. Dishes were presented in an attractive melange, cost was reasonable given the portions and quality, and service was friendly and efficient if you are dining at a leisurely pace. Chicken entree had a strange combination of deep fried vegetables and creamed broccoli. Great as independent choices, but a little too eclectic on one plate. Only other recommendation would be to upgrade the decor, as this could be a contender of fine dining establishments if they presented a white table cloth, dished out for some heavier cutlery along with etched crystal glasses, and replaced the "Howard Johnson" booths (as earlier quoted below) with white leather and mahogany. Some contemporary centrepieces would servce well, too. But I would definitely visit again, if not to fight over the creme brulee once more. (Consensus: Amaretto was, hands down, the favourite of the three.) Total cost for 2 people: ~$125 including tax and tip.

  • Order: We shared a 1/2 litre of house riesling; started with the house special of cauliflower and red bell pepper soup as well as duck breast, mango and asian pear salad; entrees were supreme of chicken along with grilled sea scallops and thai coconut sauce; and "shared" trio of creme brulee for dessert.

  • Total with tip for 3 was $105.

It's been 6 months since my last visit and maybe my expectations were too high, the food was equally well done, pork tenderloin medium was good, salmon was fresh, lamb curry delicate. Creme Brulée was still good just b/c I liked desserts

But overall I am finding that it's not worth $30 now I've tried almost all menu items. Next trip to Stratford I'll try other restaurants.

  • Order: pork tenderloin , fish of the day (citrus crusted salmon), lamb curry, Creme Brulée

  • Excellent food, attentive service, lovely venue. My only complaint would be that my food arrived in front of me several minutes before that of my companions.
The lamb was very well prepared. The salad was a bit banal (citrus fruit, lettuce and pinenuts). My husband's scallop dish was excellent. The torte was tasty, but a bit skimpy. Overall, however, it was a very tasty meal.

  • Order: salad, wine, lamb shank (the special), chocolate torte.

  • My 3rd visit to Keystone in 6 months (I tried at other times, but they were booked solid)

On par with their dinner, their lunch is equally excellent. Good portion for lunch (although I could've eat more), and nice presentation of the food and decor makes the overall experience more enjoyable

Server is excellent every time I go, either a big size party of a date.

There is a reason why they remain open in the Winter - they are that good

  • Order: Honey BBQ Glazed Arctic Char ($10.50), Shirley Temple

  • We had no reservations but it was an off season Thursday evening. They were busy but able to seat us immediately. Service was very good, friendly and attentive but not obtrusive.
The waitress was helpful in discussing dishes. Both entrees were good with the pork loin dish being very flavourful and came with interesting vegetable sides that were seasonal and very different from the standard fare. We have been to Keystone Alley before and always found it worthwhile. I find the prices a little high (liver was over $20) but I've never had a bad experience. I had recommended it to friends who dined on the patio in the summer and enjoyed it very much.

  • Order: I had the liver and my husband had the pork loin with mustard sauce. We had no appetizers or dessert as we were in a hurry to get to the theatre. We did have 1/2 a carafe of wine and cappucinno's.

  • very enjoyable lunch. bread was unique - it was like a giant pretzel shaped like a bun. suited the sandwich perfectly. all ingredients fresh and top quality. the salad and soup sides were well done. good balance of price and quality. attentive service

  • Order: lunch special sandwich - pastrami with swiss cheese on "pretzel bread". side salad for one and cream of asperagus soup for other guest.

  • I can't quite give it a "10" which would indicate perfection, but our food was as good as we've ever had anywhere. It was highly recommended by our motel keeper and he was right on the money. The service was very prompt and unobtrusive. A superb experience altogether.

  • Order: Appetizers - Duck breast salad with mango and avocado; Japanese sampler Entrees - Pork tenderloin with mustard sauce; grilled sea scallops. Glass each of Sauvignon blanc and Riesling

  • The food at Keystone is not quite as refined as Pazzo (see my review) but it is still good and the portions are what one would expect -- no leaving hungry after three courses. In my opinion, the Keystone offers is the best quality/price ratio in Stratford, although I haven't yet tried Avoca. The dinning room decor looks a bit like a Howard Johnson's, but they have a lovely patio with a awning that keeps diners protected from the elements.

  • Order: antipasto, grilled lamb, sticky toffee desert

  • I was looking for a restaurant in Stradford for a small "wedding lunch" that could cater to various people, from the daring to the picky...from over 65 to 12 years old -- and I found it! The food was very well presented, the service was fabulous. The waitress was extremely attentive and very knowledgable -- she even found a way to make sure that the pickiest of our party would get EXACTLY what he wanted.
My husband & I enjoyed it so much that we went back for our first anniversary (Sept 2004)-- and we were quite pleased to find that the quality of the food and service hadn't diminished in any way. With all the fabulous choices in Stradford kudos go to the owners & staff!
